Stage Traxx beta version 3.0.0
Hi Peter if a new playlist is created it is not listed in its correct alphabetical position - instead it goes to the end of the list. A workaround however is to rename it. Regards Richard. Ps app is now looking really good!
DickyDutch Can't confirm that. Sorting is performed case sensitive. In iOS that means that upper case characters are sorted before lower case characters. Most probably you entered a name in lower case. While your existing playlists start with uppercase characters.
But thinking about this I guess I should change that to case insensitive. That makes more sense.
New beta build 3521
A quick bugfix version for the last update.
ATTENTION: If updating from any version before 3271, the database migration will fail and you will have to reinstall the app. Please have a backup ready if this happens.
Changes
- Playlist are now sorted case insensitive
- Song picker for adding songs to playlist will show color markers
- Improved positioning of toolbar when mini player is open (still not perfect, but much better now)
- Queue will now scroll to top when double tapping on a song
- Fixed glitches in playlist scrolling when playback is running
- Fixed freeze when trying to add songs to a playlist
Just test the Fix Version. Adding a song to a playlist now works but it did not resort. It was placed at bottom. I stopped and restarted ST3. Did not fix it. The case was capital case as were the existing songs?
Hello Peter
Nicke job, I am impressed. Tried the new version on two gigs, very good, and now this update.
A question, did you looked at midi pedals connection, you said, it was a bug in that module.
I have bought the newest, and are using old and beside each other’s, works pretty well.
Have a nice day.
peter yes, I see your rationale. I follow a slightly different model. My “playlists” are really songlists by genre that I choose to play from by finding what I want and then adding it to the queue. Even with your A to Z annotations in the margin of songs, With 500 songs my way is faster and easier(for me).
Thanks again for a great job on the new version!
Would it be possible in a future version to allow backup to Google Drive or Dropbox? My iPad is only 16G and all unnecessary apps and data has been removed. I just tried a backup and Status got to 11:55 and then got “Ipad Storage Full”. Went to ipad storage and only thing I am not using is orig StageTraxx which would only free up 29.1MB. I guess I will have to rely on iTunes for backup.
JDSMUSIC . Got around it. I remembered that you said the songs are now stored in a StageTraxx database and did not rely on music library. Since I will be using a second ipad to play break music I deleted those playlists from the ipad Music Library (even though I had not added them to ST3. This freed up enough space to allow me to complete a backup!
JDSMUSIC Well, once you created the backup file, you can move it to Dropbox or anywhere else in the cloud using the Files app. But for the backup itself, I'm afraid you need to have double the space of your songs.
Maybe I will add an option to only backup the database data, but I am hesitant as I fear that users might get confused about which backup contains anything and which only the database.
I’m good with it the way it is. This iPad is about four years old. Since my existing backup iPad can’t run IOS12 I will get a new one with 32 GB.
Been playing with this new version all afternoon. I REALLY REALLY LIKE IT! You covered all the short comings of old version.
Regards

Just downloaded v3521. I found that the database seems to be intact. I will test today and setup for my gig tomorrow. I’ll report back on Tuesday.
Thx Peter for a great product and even better support!
