I recently downloaded the premium version of Stage Cue and it’s been a game changer for our band. We’re a Pink Floyd tribute band whose performances are based around video synchronizations (Wizards of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Harry Potter, and others). Our videos have the click tracks embedded in them to make sure the clicks are always in time with the videos. The clicks are panned left to our ears only and the sound effects are panned right for FOH. I think all this is important to understand before I give my feedback and make requests.

There are times that we may get off the click a bit, or somebody makes a mistake and misses a mark. In these situations, it would be nice to be able to send a midi trigger to mute the audio. This way the video continues, but we no longer have to battle being out of sync with the click. Right now the only option would be to stop the video completely, this also stopping the audio tied to it. We could always run back to our mixer and mute the clic channel; however, being able to click a foot pedal would be way more helpful.
I have some files that are set to immediately stay the next file upon completion. It seems like there’s a glitch when this happens though. Instead of immediately going to the next file, they’re looping back to the beginning and playing like a split second of that file, THEN they go to the next file. For some of the videos we play, there are sound effects built into the beginning. Take “Money” for example. When that song ends, I want it to go to “Us and Them” automatically. But when it ends, you hear a split second of the cash registers (from the beginning of “Money”) before automatically moving to “Us and Them”. Now, I can edit the videos a bit to alleviate this glitch; however, I already have these files timed with midi controlled lights and all kinds of stuff. So, it would be easier if this glitch just went away 🙂
