VISUAL CLICK , to start as STOP is hit

Hi Peter, is it possible to immediately trigger the visual click instead of the slight delay, as this throws out the smooth transition to no backing track, the audio stops immediately so why does the visual click not start at that same instance?
I am using STOP mode only , so as i hit stop on the beat i expect a visual click to take over on the beat.

When you want the click to start immediately, you need to turn of the fade out. As long as the fade out is still playing, the click will not start in "Stop" mode as playback is not yet stopped.

All Audio fade settings are off, the timing gets worse the slower the beat , pick a song with tempo set around 70 , in Metronome set it to STOP and visual only, now play the song and keep the beat , hit stop and keep the beat, you will notice as the visual metronome kicks in its way out with your count.
This trows your timing out initially, you can sort of fudge it to get on beat so you can be in sync but its not ideal , specially with slower songs.
It would be nice if every stop and start immediately triggers the visual click , and if possible every audio segment start to do the same , that way the visual click would be in time for most of the song no matter where you stop and start or how long a song is that has slightly varying tempo.
If you stop and start on the same spot the visual sync would be always perfect if you play through a long song every time a start of audio segment begins the visual click restarts so the click would never drift off by a noticeable amount.
Just a thought , i don't know if its a possible solution , but the stop start delayed sync is definitely a problem.

I tried it with a very slow 62 bpm song. Without fade out, when I stop playback on the beat, the visual metronome in stop mode stays in time.

Yes it stays in time but in my case it starts late , after experimenting more sometimes it starts on the beat , but very rarely, it’s like it’s clicking in time but it’s pot luck if you join it in time , while it should be pulled on time to when stop is activated.
I will try and send you a video example when I get time.

What I am trying to tell you is that for me it is not late. The first flash is exactly at the time I press stop. Are you sure your fade out is off and you press stop exactly on the beat?

Yes, that’s strange , I’m glad to hear it’s working your end but it’s definitely out of sync my end , I will take photos of my settings and I will video the issue , perhaps something else is causing this delay my end, but it’s doing it on all my devices and as I say sometimes it ok other times it’s not , it’s like the click is doing its own thing and it’s a matter of luck if you come back in time.

It's not a matter of luck but a matter of when you press play/stop. The click in stop mode is free running. If you want to start / stop on the click, you need to time it yourself.

Yes I do that but there is definitely a delayed click display , the first click is not on the beat , it delays then shows the first beat, this also is random to how bad the delay is at the time you press stop, being Easter I will demonstrate the issue when I get time.

It’s late in both scenarios but I used an audio segment stop to clearly show you the issue .
My finger stop timing is also pretty accurate and the same problem is there , but as I point out it’s not always the case on some occasions the click actually works as expected but it’s very rarely, this is what’s confusing .

I wonder if the click is using the tempo grid .
This would explain the inconsistency of it starting because the tempo grid is not perfect due to tempo variations,
Just a thought.

I can reproduce the issue but fixing this requires extensive code changes too big for an update in 4.0. I will try to find a solution for this in 4.1.
