Hi Peter, Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to look.
Well, the discussion got me interested again... so I decided to see what was possible and my findings may be useful to others (assuming I am not the only person with a Soundbrenner).
Hidden away in the soundbrenner app are some Bluetooth Midi options (with notes on the website that say it is still in development).
I started by connecting the Soundbrenner with the my phone (rather than my i pad with Stagetrax), turn on the midi option, advertise my phone, and to my surprise the phone completed a bluetooth midi connect to StageTrax. Step 1. Yay :-).
But I didn't get much further until I noticed on another settings page in the Soundbrenner settings app that I can use the screen of the metronome as a Midi Controller.
so, I enable Midi Controller mode and I set it to Toggle between CC16 and CC17 on alternate screen taps....
Assign Start and Play in Assign Settings in ST3 and amazingly ST3 on my ipad received the commands ... Double YAY.
Sure enough I could start and Stop Playback which is actually already a nice to have. This works with or without a metronome pulse.
You have stated many times how there is a delay on starting a track in ST3, but with one of my backing tracks I set my metronome off at 70 bpm and about a quarter pulse before Beat1 I tapped my screen and found I was blown away when the Drum beat came in on my next Beat 1spot on and palying in sync.
Ok, I don´t see me using it with a backing track, but certainly It actually works great for lyric only tracks. Maybe a practice at home thing for now, but who knows.
Now, there are some settings to use the wheel as a midi controller as well..... What shall I try? Scroll Lyrics, Change Volume, Next audio region, Toggle Loop. this could be fun. :-)
