  • Files missing when syncing from source eg iTunes to stage tracks 3

I guess you need to unlock the full version purchse. Open the settings tab, select In App Purchases and then tap on "Restore Purchases". You need to do that whenever you reinstall the app. After this step, refresh the songlist again and all remaining songs will be added.

NeilC I have noticed there are a few M4a files in this file share as I drag and dropped a lot of my backing tracks
Will ST3 still recognize them and will iPad play them as they ain’t MP3 ?

These are the files you imported through iTunes. As I wrote above ST3 needs to transcode these iTunes files and stores them as m4a files. ST3 can play multiple file formats. So it does not really care if a file is mp3 or m4a. But keep in mind, if you have a mp3 version and a m4a version of a song, it will be displayed as 2 identical songs in ST3. You will only see a difference in the song details (different filename).

peter yes I had to unlock it again after removing it uninstalled it about 4 times now
I just created a test playlist brand new dragged in files from iTunes playlist to test if all these songs would come in to iTunes Player and it didn’t even bring in all the songs ??
I have apple support technician specialist helping me as well we are doing loads of tests

You can only add songs to a playlist in ST3 that you have already imported. It will not show any songs from iTunes. You should see all the songs you have copied via iTunes filesharing.

I have worked with Apple specialist and we reset iPad to factory settings
Songs and playlists are working fine in iTunes / Music App. Although when loading to ST3 the app skips songs without any error for example if we load content from a playlist that has 9 songs, ST3 only loads 6 songs, without any error, forcing me to add the missing ones manually

Any suggestions where to go from here ??

Well, I would import all songs and then start building playlists in ST3 and editing lyrics.

Hi Peter, I may go back to Stage Tracks Classic
Just to get my gigs up and running.
I tried the file sharing and it only brought in 6 songs on ST3 I pulled the app down to refresh it nothing happened, just sane 6 songs.
I’m exhausted over this and so tired 😴

As for editing my lyrics that’s a workload in it itself I have huge library of not far from 1000 backing-tracks
I have spent a lot of time over the years adding editing lyrics into songs. Hours and hours, weeks and so much
    Involved doing this.

I can’t see a fix to this I believe there is a fault with the application like I said above I have exhausted myself I been on this since last week rebuilt my iTunes playlists from scratch.

ST3 will not import iTunes playlists like the Classic StageTracks did diff many years.

I just don’t know where to go from here I have tried everything even had to reset my iPad as it was showing error messages of songs not importing to do with different regions this country does not support this file. That’s why we had to reset iPad. Apple specialist as spent Hours on phone today and yesterday.

    Kind regards

    Neil C

You have built a fantastic App but I just can’t get it to work.

NeilC I tried the file sharing and it only brought in 6 songs on ST3 I pulled the app down to refresh it nothing happened, just sane 6 songs.

Did you do that after restoring your In App Purchase? If yes, please attach a screenshot of the Stage Traxx 3 folder either in iTunes filesharing or in the iOS Files app.

NeilC ST3 will not import iTunes playlists like the Classic StageTracks did diff many years.

You can still import playlists and ST3 will also create playlists on the fly from these imports but I strongly recommend against building your playlists in iTunes. Do this in ST3 directly.

NeilC I just don’t know where to go from here I have tried everything even had to reset my iPad as it was showing error messages of songs not importing to do with different regions this country does not support this file.

Do you have an Apple Music subscription? This might be the root cause for all your problems. Stage Traxx (old and new) can not play or import songs from the subscription as they contain copy protection.

        peter

Hi Peter no I do not subscribe to Apple Music I had this problem years ago it wiped out all my music files just went missing when I was subscribed to that.

Peter I’m going to try data base file sharing on iTunes
I will let you know if that works I did try it earlier but it only brought in 6 songs though when I look in the Huge box in iTunes file sharing all my songs I’ve dragged and dropped are in there.
I will try and do a video to show you and send photos your direct email.

NeilC check the type of files you have, i found sometimes if you have one file amongst many to be different it stops the importing process.
So when you load all your files in to a folder, change your filter cryteria to KIND then see if they are all mp3, wav, etc if you have any files that are different, dont select those files only choose known formats songs then transfer those to ST3 , then load the other songs to a DAW and reformat them to a format ST3 accepts.

I remember having this type of issue in my innitial transfer to ST.
Now that i dont go near itunes or music i dont have any time wasting major dramas.
Hope this is your answer to a very frustrating problem.

Damir check the type of files you have, i found sometimes if you have one file amongst many to be different it stops the importing process.

Really? The only way I found would stop the import is if I tried to import something like a Word file where I changed the file extension to mp3.

Stage Traxx can play following files and you can also mix them during import: aac, aif, aiff, mp3, m4a, wav, flac

peter yes but there is a chance he might have 1 or 2 files amongst the 1000 files he is trying to import that ST3 doasnt accepts of likes.
Perhaps if he gets the first six song, he should double check the seventh song to see if it is in any way different, and perhaps dont select the seventh song as an import and see how many more he can import before it stops again.
I am so sure i had this problem years ago, and my work around was to eliminate the culprit songs which were few and import the no problem majority, then i singly fixed the problem songs by importing them to a DAW and exporting them again then they loaded to ST3 ok.

I have experianced this through the years of using all different gear.
.mid loads in to my yamaha keyboard but .midi does not yet both are supported formats on other systems, so go figure.
I am just suggesting try to load all .mp3 files first then .wav and so on , i am eliminating possible causes to a problem. If that doasnt work then its something else.
Hopefully the problem songs are few and you get the majority loaded quickly in to ST3.
