Tracks out of sync multitrack

peter Hi Peter, ST3 works fine on my ipad but the multitracks run out of sync on my iphone 7+. Is there anyway to fix this. I use the iphone for a backup and often when I'm practicing. Note: I'm using iOS 15.8.

Make sure you set the internal samplerate to the same value as your ipad.

Hi Peter. All my Tracks are 44.1kHz and the Internal samplrate is set the same on my iphone 7 plus and iPad. There might be glitch on the tracks 7 and 8. They are the only tracks that go out sync on my iPhone. If I mute track 7 and 8 everything is perfect. It could be when you added the capability of having 8 tracks from 6 something in the coding went wrong. Just a suggestion.

The iPhone 7 might be too slow for 8 track playback. I could verify this if you send me your logfiles via Support > Create support email.

It seems that the audio engine can not switch to 44.1kHz internal sample rate on the iPhone 7. The speaker seems to enforce a sample rate of 48kHz and overrules the configuration ST3 tries to setup. Your files are all in 44.1. So that would explain why it is running out of sync.

Try connecting a headphone. That might solve the issue. If not, please send me another logfile after you saw the issue with headphones connected.

peter Thank you Peter. I re-sampled all my tracks to 48kHz and now I'm ready to re-install onto ST3. Do I have to delete all the multitrack songs in ST3 and the Lyrics? What would you suggest is the fastest/efficient way to do this? I have 1,000 files so it a big task. Any suggestions?

The fastest way is to just overwrite the files in the multitrack folder with the new versions. If you only changes sample rates, that is all you need to do.

peter Thank you that worked great! Now I have a different problem. All my songs are now playing faster. Is there some math to how much faster the MP3's play from 44.1kHz o 48kHz?

If the tracks play faster you maybe made an error in the conversion process. How did you convert them?

I rendered the stems using reaper.

Check your settings in reaper. The tracks should have the same length after rendering as before. I'm not familiar with repear so I can't help with that.

I made the mistake myself. I changed the speed for a few songs on reaper and did not notice that in ST3 I had the speed set at 103% equating to speeding up the tracks to 106%.

I have had this same issue intermittently in live settings while using a 2016 MacBook Pro with high enough spec to not worry about CPU issues. 8 multitracks, 44.1kHz, highest sample rate, audio interface supports and is set to 44.1kHz, using WAV files, can happen even on the first song (not necessarily switching between songs) and all songs have tracks which are 44.1kHz.

I've been seeing a similar issue to magicaltrev. It doesn't happen on every song, and restarting the same song will usually fix the issue. I've been going down my play list one after the other, no switching apps or anything. And every once in a while, the lyrics will be out of sync. All tracks and stagetraxx3 are set to 44.1Khz. I just checked my MR18, and it was set at 48Khz. Just set it to 44.1Khz. We'll rehearse next week. If I observe that behavior again, I'll post here.

Twangboy I have observed the same problem with tracks being out of synch using an iPad. Everything set to 44.1Khz. Stopping the song and restarting fixed the problem. Next time it happens I will try to note more details, but both times it happened it was at the start of my set... once I restarted all subsequent songs were fine.

Your lyrics are out of sync? Not the tracks? How much out of sync are we talking about?
