Autoplay switch works perfectly now in playlist.
Autoplay behaviour when switching to different playlists is also great now it is a lot more user friendly.
Autoplay switch position is still very wrong as it dissapears as you scroll down the playlist.
New EQ is perfect, but a bit harder to get to if needing a quick tweek but its sooo much better i can live with it.

Filter does not seem to work now, i entered Test in to a songs keyword went in to SONG applied a filter to only find Test, it did have Test as an option but it didnt find anything, i also did resync the Song folder and i restarted ST3 but still nothing in the search.

Sort by and Filter buttons are still in a bad position just like Auto play they all dissapear when you are using the lists leaving a filter setting in place is outright dangerous on stage as all your songs are not available but you cant easily see or change the settings as the feature is not permanently in view and yet its a feature constantly needed.
I would prefer to see less of the list then to be continually scroling to the begining of a 10,000 song folder.

I like the Queu selection option switch in settings, it makes ST3 a bit simpler for newbies and an option of a different way of operation.
I dont like that ST3 allways starts in SONG mode when started, i would rather it starts in the screen it was shut down in so everyone is happy.
You just fire it up and bang you are off and running where you last shut down.
Most likely in a playlist.

Suggestion
I would have a couple song files already loaded with synced information as an example, so a new purcheser can quickly experiance the power of ST3.
2 files in a Demonstration playlist
This way they are not confronted with an empty screen scratching their heads to what to do next, once they choose a demo song and have it display the lyrics that virtually can instruct them to how the program operates they will fall in love immediately.

Damir Peter i cant open a discussion in beta mode

You are not supposed to open a new discussion in this sub. All things related to this beta version should be discussed here in this thread.

Damir all my songs that have [00.00.00] timecode on the first line still highlight everything on that line as you select the song.

Then you can't seek before this position. Negative times are not possible. Remove that line and it will work.

Damir Filter does not seem to work now

I will take a look at this and also the unreadable text in your screenshot.

Damir Sort by and Filter buttons are still in a bad position

This is still on my todo list but this needs more time as I need to work against iOS guidelines to make this possible.

Damir I dont like that ST3 allways starts in SONG mode when started, i would rather it starts in the screen it was shut down in so everyone is happy.

This would be new feature request. I will add it to my todo list.

Damir I would have a couple song files already loaded with synced information as an example, so a new purcheser can quickly experiance the power of ST3.

Not possible, because copyright law forbids this. I even had to remove (my own) song lyrics from the screenshots displayed in the app store because Apple said I violated some copyright rules. No way Apple would allow me to distrubte a song within the app even if it would be my own composition.

Damir New EQ is perfect, but a bit harder to get to if needing a quick tweek but its sooo much better i can live with it.

Would it make sense to place a EQ button beside the waveform view in the big player? This button would open the multitrack view for multitrack files as each track has its own EQ.

DickyDutch However would love to be able to give each track a name (eg bass, drums, guitar etc) and not have to rely on the name of the associated track file

This is something I originally wanted to do but then wasn't sure if it is really wanted. I thought that you could define track names in the settings and these would be applied to all songs. Because the way the routing features work is that instruments should always be added to the same track. I don't want to encourage users to place an instrument into different tracks in each song.

DickyDutch Also would be useful to be able to mute and/or solo each track at a press of a button when mixing/EQing etc.

See my previous comment. I could add a button besides the waveform view to open multitrack settings directly.

peter most definitely as long as it doasnt effect anything else, i have changed my PA old tired jbl eon speakers to latest yamahas and the sound difference is amazing all my tonal mixes are all over the place now as the yamahas are so damn good you can hear everything so learly in the whole venue so having a flexible EQ on every song is going to greatly help to fix some of the songs getting to the eq quickly will help me to bring all my old songs in to order on the run the new ones are being mixed for the yamahas.
        Love it.

Damir Bit Off Topic: The latest Yamahas are great. One of my guitar players uses the DBR10 as a monitor and it sound terrific. I myself love RCF speakers. Have a pair of 708 combined with the relatively new 705 sub as PA and 310 as monitors. Absolutely great for about 100 PAX on the dancefloor. Although nothing can beat the L'Acoustics ARC PA system in one of the clubs we play regularly.

peter I agree users should be encouraged to be consistent when using the tracks of a multitrack song. In support of this I would suggest that in the global settings (Audio Routing) a user should be able to give each track their own name if required - e.g rename Track 1 “BASS”. They could then see at a glance what tracks had been used for what when compiling a new song. The other thing was that when in the Configure Multitrack Playback view in my opinion it would be nice to be able to temporarily solo a track if required when editing equalisation of that track.

But how long should the solo last? If you set it on the multitrack view, should it apply to that and the eq views and be reset when you exit that view? I don't know if that's intuitive.

What might work better is to have a on/off switch for solo in the eq view. That would always solo the current track you are eqing. This might be more consistent from a usage perspective.

Yes an on off switch in the da mode would work for me.

Damir Filter does not seem to work now, i entered Test in to a songs keyword went in to SONG applied a filter to only find Test, it did have Test as an option but it didnt find anything

Please try again, I can't reproduce the problem. I guess you only added the keyword, but did not select it (checkmark needs to be displayed and it should be shown in the keywords cell in song details).

peter yes there is definitely some great sounding gear out there at good prices compared to the good old days
                I have Yamaya DXR12 mark 2 s and JBL 18 subs
Most smaller gigs the DXR12 do the job nicely.
My good old jbl eons 15 s died of old age i am still adjusting to the yammies but am liking them more and more each gig.

peter wright as usual Peter, i didnt realise i needed to check mark anything as there is no check box to give me a clue and as a new commer i failed miserably.

                MULTI TRACK TESTING
I am keen to test the multi track capability of ST3 beta as i have an XAir18 mixer and i use Pro logic daw.
I need to know what file format do i need to save to for ST3 to then load it correctly?
How does ST3 then spit out the audio?
Is it through a usb connection from the ipad to the XAir18, which channels of the XAir will it appear on as default?
Can i not use the XAir mixer and have the 6 tracks mixed down to the stereo bus of the Ipad?

Is there a block diagram of how this new system works so i can choose my method of operation?
                Cheers Damir

Damir I keep getting the same when I’m in the beta app but not when I go into the live app

Damir I need to know what file format do i need to save to for ST3 to then load it correctly?

It's up to you. Any filefomat that works for stereo files can be used in multitrack files.

Damir How does ST3 then spit out the audio?

If you only have a stereo output all tracks are summed to stereo. If you have more outputs available, you can route tracks to a main out or aux out and select distinct outputs for aux and main.

Damir Is it through a usb connection from the ipad to the XAir18, which channels of the XAir will it appear on as default?

Yes and default is channel 1/2 for main and 3/4 for aux but you can change that once the interface is connected and this setting is remembered.

Damir Can i not use the XAir mixer and have the 6 tracks mixed down to the stereo bus of the Ipad?

                  Yes you can.

Damir Is there a block diagram of how this new system works so i can choose my method of operation?

Not yet. I will start documentation once there are no more changes to the beta.

Text songs issue seems to have disappeared in beta now but it’s still in current ST3, but I swear I tried it on both and had the same issue I must be going nuts.
Ok beta text songs suggestions to make it stage friendly ,
X fade button works a treat I have usefully used it a number of times and it works great, what I would like is to be able to use the X fade from normal backing track to the text track in other words I want to fade out to the text file from the now playing song, I know the text song has no audio but is there a way to make this work and then I would like to be able to x fade back from text in to a normal song in other words x fade be comes fade out and show text and leave text fade in to song. But stay as x fade between two normal backing tracks.
This would be very useful especially when crash leaving a backing track to fully live performance with text.
Also can the two volume buttons become skip a page up and down in lyrics instead of being useless buttons while in text only mode also the volume slider to become a text position slider so if you have a guide of where you are in the text file and you can use it to slide to a text position instead of it being a useless peace of valuable realestate .
If somehow you could have a permanent file that can give your text a time duration so the auto scroll can also work on text files would be perfect, but if you don’t want the auto feature just leave the time setting on zero.
This sort of features would make ST3 not just a backing tracks app but a very powerful tool for lyrics storage as well.
Text songs should definitely have their own colour for easy recognition.
Placeholder should be Textholder, place means nothing to me Text does, that’s probably why I never discovered this great potential feature which needs to be presented in a way people will want to buy the app just because of it as it’s the way they perform and ST3 just gives them a simple yet powerful way to get just what they want.

Damir, hold on. I really have to stop you here. You are proposing new feature after new feature. If this goes on for a couple of more days, I will finish the beta sometime in winter, if ever 😉. So please concentrate on really essential stuff and reporting bugs.

Nothing in version 3.4 has been changed in regards to Placeholders. This is a functionality that has been mostly untouched since version 3.0. I will not start working on changes for placeholders now. A beta version means that the features are mostly complete. If there are some additions like solo button for multitracks that are directly related to the features introduced in version 3.4, they will make it into this release. Anything placeholder related will not make it.

peter i understand peter please dont take everything i comment on as a must have i write things to you as i come across them or i feel it could be better sometimes you can totaly ignore them other times they might need immediate attention and some ideas are worth noteing for later, its all good.
The reason i am so iterested in placeholders is because i am looking for a way to store all my lyrics with chords and so far i havent found software that i like, ST3 is perfect for this as it works the way i like and is available on all my devices, but it has minor issues which i think in time you will probably fix.

I have started on multitrack feature and am working it out now so shortly i will see what it will do for me as you know i have songs with and without a drummer, and it would be nice to have bass and rhytm seperated as well.I have thought about this feature and have come up with some points to raise regarding stereo and mono, i definitely think that multitrack is going to be good for some users but i also think a larger number of simple users wont use it as it will take a lot of knowhow in the daw process and it looks as thow each track will have to be imported separately which will take a bit of effort then you will have to sacrifice the stereo imaging on the drums and any stereo instruments like organs with leslie effects, unless you use two tracks for every instrument then when all your tracks are entered for all your songs you need something like an xair mixer to bring it all out and a sound engineer to controll , for top professionals this would definitely work but for me i could possibly use it as long as i can mix down the six tracks to the stereo op of the ipad, so i could easily disable the instrument i dont need, that would work , but i can do that easily on the daw, just create two or three mixes of the same song this would take 5 minutes save them to ST3 folder enter lyrics and time stamp them in one song copy and paste to all other versions and presto i have same versatility of multitracking with full stereo imaging of all stereo instruments with tempo and pitch capability as well using the filter facility to easily create playlists.
I will give it a good try and see if it is worth the possible extra sound quality and tweekability.
                    Cheers
