No the advantage is that I can use my Mac! I have a BT keyboard and use it too. But Mac is so much better. Also... Is there an option to “doodle” or create a “note” on a song and save it for later? Sometimes during a live set i would like to do that.. thank you Peter!
Open Beta Version 3.3.0
You could add the note to the lyrics. That way you won't forget it as it will be shown every time you play the song
peter too complicated. I was thinking of using a finger and quickly doodling something. Like markup in pics.
peter Hi thanks for the updates and hard work you’ve put in, although I do agree with DickyDutch that the added transpose would definitely be easier for guitarists with capo positions as a reference rather than semi tones. I will be able to work out the capo placing and do what is required by using the semi tone model you have created, so firstly thank you, but for a more user friendly version, especially for any amateur guitarists or to be able to use it on stage “on the fly" for any of us, a capo position would definitely be more useful as this is the way most guitarists would use this and I completely understand that you want the option to be open for all musicians and not just for guitarists, but maybe a possibility for the future is that in that same section below the transpose you’ve now added, you could add the capo position model as well, so you could use one or the other, allowing the ease of use for guitarists and still leaving the semi tones feature above it for all other musicians?
obviously you may have reasons for not doing this, but your app is the most user friendly and feature filled app I’ve come across that ticks all the boxes for performance and adding in capo positions would tick another.
Many thanks for the updates and for running the beta versions to allow us to have our say, your customer service and inclusion of your users is so good of you.
Many thanks and best wishes Jeff

This is indeed something I looked into quite some time ago. I failed to find a solution that would work with the fluid layout system Stage Traxx is using. Doodling on a picture or PDF works because the size of the canvas is fixed. That is not the case with lyrics in Stage Traxx. They are always rendered according to the available screen estate. So the canvas size changes. If you zoom in lines can be broken up. It is simply not possible to place a doodle layer over it that will look identical on different screen configurations.

Sorry, I don't get it. If you have Capo position 1, it means you need to transpose the chords by -1 semitones. Right? So why not just work with semitones? Capo 2 is -2 and so on. This is not a big change to get accustomed to and in the end every musician understands how to read the transposition setting not only guitar players. Or am I missing something?

peter fair point and I can definitely work with it and work out from fret 7 and onwards using the + semi tones if I ever need to capo that high. It was purely a suggestion to make it easier for guitarists on The fly. But please don’t get me wrong I am very pleased with the addition and I understand your idea and reasons behind it being semi tones rather than capo positions so thank you.
Peter I agree with Jega777 what you’ve done is excellent and is usable but if you really wanted to put the 'icing on the cake' and remove the that extra layer of thought process and improve speed of use for us humble guitarists you should include CAPI POSITION. Many Thanks.
Sorry that should read CAPO POSITION.

Ah, here I see the problem. What I can do is to increase the range to 12 semitones up and down. The restriction to 6 was only because pitch changes in songs had this restriction and I just copied the restrictions. But there is no reason to not allow the full 12 semitone range here. That way you just have to remember that the capo position is a negative number.
DickyDutch I think the above change should improve the usage even for high capo positions.
I changed it to +/- 11 semitones as 12 would be the same chord again.
It looks like the beta version poduced no crashes so far according to Testflight. So I will be now updating the documentation and I guess version 3.3 will be released end of coming week.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Awesome thank you Peter!
A short update:
The iOS version has been released yesterday.
The MacOS version is still in review. Apple seems to have questions and issues regarding the Mac version. I am currently trying to get these resolved as fast as possible. But I can not tell how long the review will take.
