I downloaded all the songs I needed from ITunes onto the backup ipad
I restored the song list from Stage Traxx
I added all the songs to the restored playlist
With the exception of one song that won’t play in Stage Traxx..and one that is missing lyrics
everything seems to be funtioning normally.
I will let you know if the songs disappear again.
By the way, this is the same method I have been using for several years.
Same ipad. Can’t comment on any software upgrades etc
All the song in red .Missing !!!

Godsmo123 I went to a list name and went to Add Songs
I selected all the song names that are showing in Local
The titles arrived and the songs play but there are no lyrics in any of them
Why did you add these songs? Why not repair the missing songs and point them to the local files?
And do the files contain lyrics tags? Or why do you expect lyrics to be displayed when you add new songs? Lyrics from the Stage Traxx database are connected to songs. So you need to repair a song to point it to a local file and keep lyrics from the database.
Situation seems to have stabilized after using the “old” method of just adding songs from the available iTunes song database rather than from “local”. I wasn’t able to renuild the whole song list but I have enough material to use as a backup if the main iPad goes down during a performance. I will be very happy when this situation goes away in version 3! I love Stahe Traxx and would recommend it to people except for the labour involved in getting songs into the backup.
Same problem happening again. I am on a different wifi network. That’s the only change.
I have run out of ideas. The main iPad is working fine. Maybe I will delete the app and try reinstalling it.

Can you send me one of the files that causes these problems? Also please create a new backup file and send that backup to me.
Maybe I have an idea. Could you check one thing: When this problem appears, does it work after you quit Stage Traxx via the task switcher (double tap on home button and swipe the app to the top) and then restart the app?
I disabled Apple Muisc
I downloaded all my purchased songs from iTunes onto the backup iPad
I deleted and reinstalled Stage Traxx
Then I uploaded a recent backup from Drop Box
And.....(drum roll please)...everything seems to be working as expected. Lyrics are there, most songs are not red. I will let you know if there are more troubles.

I am having this problem...it is very frustrating. It only seems to happen when the playlist is on continuous play.
All songs are local file via Dropbox . The most concerning thing is that I can play continuously one minute then for no reason I can think of it comes up with unexpected error cannot play audio file. I have changed nothing on the settings?! Such a great app but the unpredictability in the middle of gigs is stressful as the whole app needs to be reloaded to play anything after the error message!
I have a suspicion: I think iOS sometimes changes the path to the songs when the app has been running while the iPad has been for a longer time in sleep mode. Can you confirm that this only happens when you did not restart Stage Traxx after it has been sleeping for a some time?
If my suspicion is correct, it should not happen when you restart the app after a longer sleep.
PS: Still trying to reproduce the problem on my device without success.
I can monitor that for a while. It has been about 2 hours since I did the above noted reboot and reinstall. Stage Traxx has been open the whole time and the iPad has been asleep. No issues yet. I will advise. I just hope this is isolated to this iPad because I use the other one for performance and so far no issues there.
I guess I am glad someone else has experienced this if only to prove that I am not going crazy. I am sure Peter will figure it out. There are a lot of moving parts between how songs get into Stage Traxx and how they get played. I have had very good luck with this app over the past few years. I think I must have played 25 gigs with it and it’s has not disappointed in any way.
You have mentioned several times turning Apple Music off. But in the iPad settings menu Stage Traxx has a button requesting access to Media and Apple Music. Should this be off? If so can Stage Traxx still access songs? Also, this iPad is using IOS 11.0.3. Not sure if that’s a factor in the case of the “Missing Music”
Everything still working this evening. So far so good.
Oh, seems like Apple has renamed the setting in iOS11. If I remember correctly it has been called "Media Library" or "iTunes Library". Anyway, if you disable this setting, Stage Traxx will no longer be able to access any music from your iTunes library regardless wether you actually use Apple Music or not. So the wording is quite misleading in this dialog. But unfortunately I cannot change the wording there.
If you actually use Apple Music, all songs downloaded from Apple Music will have DRM embedded. Only songs that you have purchased will be downloaded without DRM. 3rd party apps like Stage Traxx that do more than only start and stop playback, have no way to access DRM protected music. Therefore it is best practice to disable Apple Music on the device where you run Stage Traxx.
The problems described in this thread will only occur with local files, not iTunes files. So if you switched back, to iTunes files, you will not see the specific error described here.
No problems today. Apple Music is off in settings but I seem to able to still search and use Apple Music. When I try to add a song to a play list I get an error message. Otherwise everything seems to work as it did before the songs were disappearing. I am not using Local for the data base of songs. Just iTunes specifically the purchased list.
