Oh, seems like Apple has renamed the setting in iOS11. If I remember correctly it has been called "Media Library" or "iTunes Library". Anyway, if you disable this setting, Stage Traxx will no longer be able to access any music from your iTunes library regardless wether you actually use Apple Music or not. So the wording is quite misleading in this dialog. But unfortunately I cannot change the wording there.

If you actually use Apple Music, all songs downloaded from Apple Music will have DRM embedded. Only songs that you have purchased will be downloaded without DRM. 3rd party apps like Stage Traxx that do more than only start and stop playback, have no way to access DRM protected music. Therefore it is best practice to disable Apple Music on the device where you run Stage Traxx.

The problems described in this thread will only occur with local files, not iTunes files. So if you switched back, to iTunes files, you will not see the specific error described here.

No problems today. Apple Music is off in settings but I seem to able to still search and use Apple Music. When I try to add a song to a play list I get an error message. Otherwise everything seems to work as it did before the songs were disappearing. I am not using Local for the data base of songs. Just iTunes specifically the purchased list.

I should clarify that the error message I mentioned above comes from Apple Music, Not Stage Traxx

No problems today again. Have a gig tonight and will be running the master slave operation. Will let you know how things go. I also have an idea for increasing your revenue.

The problem of songs turning red on the backup iPAd seems to be over...thank goodnesss. I can search Apple Music, but I have not reactivated iCloud Music Library. whenI find a song I want to add to my performance list I take a screen shot of it and then buy it and download it on my iMac instead. This is a bit of a change but at least I know the backup iPad is stable and can be relied upon if and when I need it. It’s the biggest weak link in being a one person show...live by technology...die by technology!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad it is now working stable for you. But I will keep an eye out for other reports of this issue and try to validate my suspician regarding the local file issues.

Fröhliche Weihnachten, Peter. In the New Year we should discuss ways to make Stage Traxx ridiculously profitable. It's a great app and you should be getting rich with it. Ok...maybe not rich, but comfortable. High end VW if not BMW.

Still seems to be happening for me unfortunately. It seems to be quite unpredictable as to when it is going to give the error cannot play audio track message.. I thought it seemed to be happening when tracks were on continuous play however they were playing fine and then all of a sudden stopped and turned red. All my tracks are local files. Such a great app I don’t know why this has suddenly started happening..

        Vickyemma....Did you do these steps?

        I disabled Apple Muisc
I downloaded all my purchased songs from iTunes onto the backup iPad
I deleted and reinstalled Stage Traxx
Then I uploaded a recent backup from Drop Box

All Imcan say is my Stage Traxx Song data base is working fine again. I haven’t dared to re-activate Apple Music although for some reason I can listen to Apple Music songs but can’t save them to this iPad. I use an iMac for that purpose.

Vickyemma Could you please try to just quit Stage Traxx when this happens. Double tap on the home button to open the task switcher and swipe the app to the top. Then restart Stage Traxx. If your tracks will play back again, I know what the problem might be.

peter sorry for the late reply Peter ...I did as you said...error message came up, I exited the app and reloaded...Tracks will play again but not the ones that are red t. It played about 3 songs on continuous play and the 4th song went red... one repaired they are okbut it seems to not be consistent in which go red or play. I’m stumped 🤔 *once repaired even...

peter I have managed to video what happens during play...can I send it to you somehow if you think it would help. It won’t let me put it on here...it’s just over 2 mins long

By your description, I'm not sure what did play after the restart and what did not play. Did the song for which the error message popped up play correctly after the restart or not?

Do you have Dropbox? Upload the video to Dropbox and send me a link.

peter no the song that was missing didn’t play after restart. I will upload to Dropbox

peter having just paid my £9.99 for this app, i find i can't use it as I have an apple music account, and 90% of my backing tracks i use are from here. It would have been nice to be informed about that before purchasing, as the money is now wasted,

247BSMITH01 It is written in the manual and there is also a free lite version to try before buying. But in any case you can contact Apple support and request a refund.

              a year later

I tried some of the suggestions listed here and these files are still red. Is there something that will help?

If I am to reload Stage Traxx I need to make a copy of the songs. How do I do that?

I tried ST3 and dislike it. You do not need to have all this complication when you are performing. I like the simplicity of ST2.

              Thanks, Tom
