I've just sent you a single email with the logs from the Host device and both client devices (so you can compare logs on a 'good' client and a 'bad' client if necessary).

Does the reported time in that song also seem off? Or is maybe the start of the track cut off? I also saw the sound cutoff at the beginning issue on my end. That could be related to this issue. If the first say 250ms are cut off, all timestamps are 250ms late. As you noticed, seeking back plays the file from the beginning. Is the timing then correct?

Sharonzaz The master in ST3 when I assign stereo out to usb 1/2 and added the AUv3 buss compressor/EQ is working great with multitracks, this was a crucial request I made back then and you’ve added that.

I forgot that completely, should maybe read my manual from time to time 😉.

So actually what you need are plugins not only on the buses but also on the outputs. That would require quite a big redesign of how the signal flow is organised in the audio engine. Maybe later in the lifecycle.

royandreno I agree, no waveform is a no go for me. Intuitive and informative.

So where would you place the waveform view?

The master slider in ST4 is only a DCA slider, that changes the volume of all buses it is not a full channel strip and can not host plugins. So I'm afraid this is a request that I can not implement.

That’s a pity, it’ll make mixing my tracks with one master and no dsp difficult, I’ll have to see how that works.
perhaps an additional “master buss that all busses go to before the master DCA, way later after you’re happy with what I’m sure is a bundle of issues you’re dealing with. If not, we just have to live with that.

I too was going to raise this at some time when things got a little ‘quieter’ 🙂. I wanted to use a limiter across the mix of all tracks so level out the mixes of different songs etc. Currently I have this in my X32 mixer but if ST had that capability I could do all my mixing/audio controls in the iPad and use a smaller simpler mixer. Especially useful for those smaller gigs where taking the full rack is a pain.
No worries if it is not possible, I will use the X32 🙂

peter Which area do you mean. Honestly, I am also not happy yet with the placement of the assignable buttons. Having them in the playbar at the bottom is progress as they stay visible when the mixer shows but The scrolling button list is not nice to look at and not practical if you need to scroll to get to a button.

Where you have it now is fine it’s just how you have it is not user friendly , since you only have 8 assignable buttons I think all eight could fit in that spot nicely evenly divided, these 8 holes to be filled with any combination of functions , if you have more functions then as you scroll left or right all you are doing is moving the functions within these 8 evenly placed holes , if you want to not use some holes you can put in blank panels which would look like there are no functions in those spots you could say you put in a space , if you need more functions just add them to the assignable list but you will only see 8 functions on the iPad even though you can scroll to a whole new 8 functions with a swipe left or right on this area , if you long press on a space or a button you can drag it to rearrange the order on the interface itself .
Basically create fixed 8 windows that things are added to moved around behind them so you never end up with a half function showing and you can have 8 more assignable combinations to the left and right of the screen giving us 24 total assignable buttons and 3 views to choose from , this could mean you have function keys for home rehearsals by swiping to left or a different or extra 8 functions by swiping right.
This would keep it neat at all time and easy to program and change if needed.
By having the buttons as high as possible and introducing 2 line labels it would be possible to nicely fit 8 function buttons next to each other on iPads , 4 on iPhones landscape and 2 in portrait mode, this would give us enough control on all devices.
You almost had it right , I know some people might want a volume fader instead with a couple of buttons perhaps somehow if you could introduce that as an option so we could program it in on the left or right side swipe , as some people might quickly swipe to right an use the volume and back to middle to get 8 switch functions plus they still have the left swipe of another totally different function setup.
It’s just a quick thought of what I would use and accept to cater for my needs , I like the function button idea as is it just needs a better on stage experience.

I thought I had the latest software , Apple is updating the software more often than I change my underwear 🤣
I’m spending more time updating then using the damn devices 😩
I will update to 18.7.1 and see what gives , Ahha! I have my beta updates turned off that’s why you’re so far ahead.

Years of working in support has meant that whenever someone says "I have the latest version..." I always validate because so many times they are wrong. Also, when doing bug submissions, you learn to always put all relevant data to remove assumptions and save the time wasted by people asking "can you confirm what version of..." 🙂

iOS 26 doesn't need beta updates turned on. It isn't beta, From iOS 17 Apple prompted iOS 18 as the 'normal' upgrade path, but if you look further down the page, there was also option to go to iOS 26 to get all the new eye candy.

It's actually quite weird having an iOS 26 and iOS 16 iPad side-by-side testing ST4. There's a LOT of UI differences in the app cause by the iOS version!

peter As soon as you scroll manually, a new button shows up above the zoom buttons (instead of scroll speed buttons) to reenable autoscroll.

It can’t be that obvious if I haven’t spotted it so far, perhaps it needs to stand out a bit more by using colour.

Lishy The wave form shows me the dynamics of a track within a region and the song. I use those as cues for my guitar playing especially.
Just because you don’t care, others, including myself, do.

I tend to agree with @royandreno
I liked the wave in ST3 and the fact that, with the different region colors showing on the wave (as in ST3), you could at a glance see what section of a song you were in, when a solo was coming up etc, without having another row of buttons with regional names/colors etc. I understand that folks like @Damir want the buttons to jump around in a song, but for those of us who just play a song, I prefer the extra lyric space rather than a bunch of buttons I don’t use (AND provide yet another way to hit the wrong part of the screen and screw up the song!). In fact I was planning on asking @peter to provide a way to hide the region buttons. In the scenario of just playing through songs, they are an accident waiting to happen. But I do like to define regions in some of my songs so I can get a visual reminder (via the coloured waveform) of where we are and what’s coming (I always color given sections of a song the same color. So verses purple, chorus cyan, solo yellow etc)

MarkGuitar I use a helix, guitar pedal I run live. With a band I use a digital mixer but one man gigs it’s only helix, I process my guitar and vocals on the helix. My clicks/count ins also get processed and routed to my in ears (headphones out only) and unfortunately the helix doesn’t have any other way to process FOH USB 1/2 (only option) and so it is absolutely crucial to have processing on the master of Stagetraxx.

Lishy What’s your gripe with me? Just because I didn’t like the lyric issue in ST3, and we had a disagreement about that, (which in fact was a change that only ONE, overly active, forum member made Peter change and therefore screw up,) now you are telling me why I don’t need a waveform?

I agree with both of you . The first thing I mentioned when I opened ST4 , I don’t like the very thin line that is hard to see where you are in the song and I suggested a fix because if you don’t use loops you are not getting a good enough display of where you are.
I really don’t understand to why people are so fixated of seeing a wave form in the display when performing you audio levels mean nothing at that point , what’s important is where you are in a song, well if that’s the case create loops in your song not only do you get a very big box to guide you through a peace of song the segments are coloured and labeled if you need to be soo spoon fed than spend the time and create loops and you will get a restaurant meal instead of McDonald’s 😂.but if you don’t want to spend that time then I agree a slightly thicker line that’s vibrant and stands out more that has a moving noticeable head indicator would be a lot better than a very thin line that is like a thin pizza with topping that does not indicate very well at a distance to where you are.
I like the general idea but don’t like its implementation is what I’m saying.
This can all be fixed when we have a useable ST4 I rather we don’t rush in fixing time as I don’t like band aid fixes.
Unfortunately we had no input in the beginning so now we have a clay statue that’s half done and we have to make it Beautiful.
It’s all fun, at least we have good old ST3 to keep on rockn!

Could you place it in the top panel section where it was in ST3? That worked really well for me. If not just under the song title, how about ‘behind’ the song title, as a kind of layer thing, with the title over top. That way the wave is still visible. And you could show song progress in the same way too, with the wave showing colors, including regions. TBH, I think you pretty much nailed this part of the GUI in ST3.

peter where it is in ST3, towards the top, so it’s close to where my current lyric line is. This lets me focus on a small part of real estate on my 12,9’’ ipad pro, and have total situational awareness at all times. Having the wave or regions at the bottom, as some have suggested, is a total no-go as well for me.

That being said, I’m so happy with ST3, apart for the lytic line issue that I have to work around, that if the waveform is not visible in 4, I am very content with staying with 3. I don’t need the vast amount of bells and whistles that so many wishes for. I just hope ST4 maintains its user friendliness, and not evolves into an over-complicated animal.

peter , I was also missing the waveform a bit, but doesn't mean I need this very much. Just that the current audio regions layout is not very good (just my view). Songs are chopped into pieces, and the playhead is not very clear when transitioning to a new audio region. I like the solid black line playhead (in ST3) which is very clear!

Just on the master. Having the FX on the busses is a great bonus but actually I only l require on the master.

Like I said, at this stage it is crucial but I’ll live without it until you could implement it. 🙏

For me, the key is to keep the complexity out of the way. There are some new features in ST4 that are awesome and I have long wanted. But I don’t want them all over the main screen all the time. Playing live (for me) requires 100% attention on the music. My ‘control centre’ needs to be unobtrusive and simple, with the underlying complexity hidden. I don’t want to be fiddling with buttons etc on the iPad whilst I am playing.
Not an easy thing for @peter to achieve I accept.

As my name was mentioned I will also reply , if you don’t like regions as a guide just don’t use them and they won’t be there. As I said before I also would like a thicker/brighter pizza line that has a better indicator to where you are in a song as it’s too fine and not easy to see at a distance.
