Hi Peter, Feedback, suggestions and faults.
Overall i love the general feel of getting around and look it feels faster and looks more up to date great work, i also like the sharper look it feels more vibrant and easier to see at a distance.
Thanks for the changes in song playlist it feels a lot better now .
The Audio segments display is so much easier to see and use , but has some minor flaws , i know you will get them fixed in time.
The 8 assignable buttons idea is great but it needs better implementation, since you have plenty of height in that area i would dedicate equal space for every button on the top surface instead of the scroll that moves freely wherever, creating fixed 8 pigeon holes on iPads , 4 for iPhone landscape and 2 for portrait, this then always places the buttons in a perfect spot and all you do is scroll left or right on smaller devices this would make it easy to choose exactly the options we need at the moment we need to be very careful to fit what we want where.
When you label these buttons they end up too long and hog unnecessary screen space, as you have the height my idea is to have two lines to write the naming TEMP -, TEMP + , Pitch -, Pitch + etc where the -&+ can be below the top line , this would reduce the width of the oversized buttons and allow more buttons to be placed in view on the iPad i believe all 8 should be visible at all times and if you increase this number all we do is scroll as we do now except its a definite positioning choice, that way we never end up with half a function button displayed.
Also to add i would allow a long press on the buttons to rearrange them in any order on the interface itself as well, this saves us needing to go to settings.Perhaps give us a blank button we can insert to be able to create the spacing we need or something similar to give us precise button positioning within the 8 pigeon holes on the interface.
This idea could then allow us to have a much larger button count in lots of 8 , swipe left give you another 8 new buttons , swipe right another 8 , total of 24 programable buttons and using one swipe in either direction . Perhaps you need the same what ST3 had, just swipe in a direction and you have that control , perhaps you only need one function and nothing else , just swipe to the other way and you have exactly what you need.
Just giving you ideas here , you might have already thought of a way.
Auto manual scroll, at the moment its confusing how to get back to auto scroll.
I suggest bottom right of lyrics screen , a bright coloured and labeled button similar to how you have the assignable buttons now pops up as you switch to manual mode , this would clearly alert us we are now in manual mode and gives us an in your face option to quickly get back to auto mode , i would also modify the logic of return , as you hit this button it should immediately return you to the last used timecode not wait till it gets the next code, because if you have songs synced in paragraphs it would take too long to return to auto mode in the meantime you have no usable lyrics.
We get away with it now because most of us use line sync but even then it would be nice to return to now playing line instead of the next.
ZOOM buttons on lyrics is unnecessary on portable devices , just have them available on Macs.
Pinch to zoom in out is perfect just let us see the zoom values on screen when we make the gesture.
Why hog up space with unnecessary functions.
I will again repeat a fault i believe is very important , when a song comes to an end and a new one is loaded the audio segments view doasnt start from the beginning of that song it remains on the end view of the last song.
Shivers, I've just had audio cut out in the middle of a song , its the same effect to when you mute audio, it still is moving through the song but no sound and comes back on the end of the loop its on.
I haven't touched a thing and it was just playing normally , this is on build 1792.
I will end now, but still have more to report,
