I broke the mini tip off inside my iPad Pro and after many technicians trying to remove the tip with no luck I bought a new iPad to play a gig I was booked for out of town.

My question is: The new iPad doesn't have enough memory to load my Stagetraxx backup. I can delete files to streamline a playist for this gig but I want to make sure I'm not deleting needed audio files. For example I have many files that start with NB (No Bass) for when I play with a bass player which I do not need for this upcoming solo gig. I want to delete them all and create a new playlist and Save a Backup that I can restore on the new iPad.

I get an alert that says: Deleting Song - Do you also want to delete appending audio and PDF files?
If I click YES will that affect other versions of the song?

What would be really cool is COLLECT function similar to what Adobe uses when saving an InDesign File or ProTools does. It finds all files used and packs them into a folder. I use some of the same audio files for different playlists and often will change the key or speed depending on who I'm gigging with.

For example, if I have a playlist "Gig Set with Bass Player" it would be cool to have it collect all the source audio files and allow me to load it only when needed. "Gig Set Solo" would always be visible but if I needed "Gig set with Guitar Player" I could load those files if they had been altered.

Love Stagetraxx!!! Been here from the beginning and it's the BEST

You already have this capability, the one file can be used or not used in multiple songs .
Just DUPLICATE the same song , change what you need to change on the duplicate & change its colour only if you don’t want to change the name of the song then group all those coloured songs you want and place them in to the same colour playlist now you can have all white songs you normally perform with all players and all green same songs that are in a green playlist name, are you songs without the bass player, this is very simple to achieve plus you can use FILTER to gather all songs you require to make a playlist and you have visual colour confirmation to what song has what preferences you desire so you can mix and match songs on the night if your bass player is unavailable for the next bracket you can use the white version of the same song knowing the bass is there, you can also use the artist column and label it NO BASS this will give you colour confirmation plus actual writing confirmation in you song list when selecting songs and the FILTER function makes it simple to find all your files you need to select one or all to play or to create a full playlist which could be your whole gig without the bass player.
This does not use up any extra memory as the data files are not duplicated , the same file is used on all your duplicates it’s the changes to every version that gets saved and this does not use a lot of data.

I assume you are talking about the charge connector of iPad, if the tip has broken off and a technician could not remove it then he or she should not be called a technician , just find another person that has better qualifications.

        How large is your backup?
I have 21gig file which is huge and it will fit on a 32gig iPad , now you can’t buy a 32gig device they all start at 64gig ,
Give us more information so we can help.
Why don’t you fully dedicate your new device to ST3 and get rid of all other software this will give you lots of space.

Damir Hey thanks for info. It was actually the mini end from an audio cable that broke off inside the headphone jack. Tried the crazy glue trick from YouTube and now it's really stuck. The cost to get someone to open it up and the time wasn't an option. I bought the new iPad (9th gen 64GB with a headphone jack) to only use for gigs but I must have set something up wrong because I kept getting lack of memory alerts every time I tried to sync and restore Stagetraxx 3. Ironically, I could have just used an adaptor for the lightning port to plug into my mixer. You just can't charge at the same time.

So if I have a song file example: "MySong" in the key of A, and I color code it White, then I duplicate the song and change the Key to Bb in StageTraxx, then color it Green, it will remember the key if I want to add it another playlist? or should I just change the name to "MySongBb" ? I would have two .wav files

So the answer is: When you delete and hit YES to confirm, you delete the audio file from wherever it is used

ColinW thats correct, and its up to you how you name it, i think you can have identical names

ColinW this backup should easily fit on your 64 gb 9th gen ipad.
Do a search to where your memory has gone and fix the problem , empty your rubbish bin as that will still use space untill its emptied.

If you are in song mode this will remove the audio file if you choose that option, but if you are deleting in playlists then it just removes that song from the playlist it still exists in song mode.
To fully remove songs use song mode and select to remove the actual file from ST3 this then saves space but only after you empty the bin in FILES folder.

ColinW you can charge at the same time if you get the correct adaptor , it has a headphone out and a lightning chargig connector all in one, but i preffer headphone out jack and i purchased another 9th gen 256gb ipad just for its headphone ability as a spare backup device or as a complimentary screen for any guests on stage.

As you can share the same audio file in multiple songs, this warning about deleting files will only be visible when Stage Traxx detects that at least one of the files associated with that song is not used in other songs and can be deleted. If all files for a song are also used by another song, Stage Traxx will not show that warning and will not delete any of those files.
