I've just started to encounter this client disconnection issue as I move from trialing ST3 with 1-2 band members, to on-boarding them all.
My host iPad is a iPad 5th Gen iOS 16.7.10 (yes, not the most powerful, and soon to be upgraded)
My first test client iPad was an identical iPad (5th Gen iOS 16.7.10). We got thru an entire 4 hour rehearsal with no issues.
Next rehearsal, we added an iPad Pro M4 iOS 18.3.0 - no issues over another 4 hour rehearsal.
Then we added 2 x iPad 9th Gen iOS 18.3.0, and this is where things start going downhill.
Oddly, it was these iPad 9th Gen devices that were encountering disconnects. Quite randoml;y, but probably once every 20-30 mins over a 4 hour rehearsal. The iPad Pro had 1-2 disconnects. The 5th Gen iPad - zero disconnects.
All devices are connected to a 5Ghz portable router we have in our rack so that everyone can also connect to our Behringer X32 rack for their own IEM mix.
As mentioned, I'm going to upgrade the Host iPad to a 9th Gen iOS 18.3.1 so I'll be interested to see what changes next rehearsal.
While I'm a tech guy, I'm not an Apple guy, so aside from using a portable router for the network and trying to reduce iOS/iPadOS version disparity, are there any other recommendations either in iOS/iPadOS tweaks or in ST3 for improving reliability in Session management?
