Brainstorming about the version 4 user interface

Damir Editing lyrics will be possible from the lyrics viewer with a single tap on a button. Just like in the current version with the pdf editor.

peter sorry Pete I don’t use PDFs so I am not aware of its behaviour, but it sounds good, I am sure you will make it practical.
My immediate feeling was I would just like to double tap on either lyrics screen pdf on my the normal lyric screen and this opens the actual appropriate editor, no extra button’s needed to clog up the screen space , this would be rally fast to work with.
But any improvement is welcome.

Hy, Petter. Can you do the waveform bigger??or..in setting, some options that if someone’s wats to see the waveform bigger…thanks in advance. I ask this because I have an iPad Pro but the waveform is were small..maybe someone else will find this question interesting. Thanks in advance

Is OSC something that you can implement into ST4

I currently use Bome Midi Translator Pro to send midi from ST3 to the translator over a network to my MacBook Pro
This then outputs via WIDI MASTER to my MR18 to automate Stereo Delay and Reverb pre delay & decay

If you could add OSC it would negate the need for Midi Translator Pro to convert the midi and the need for my MacBook

would it be possible to allow the user to choose 'sharps' # or 'flats' b preference on chord transposition? Example: I'm transposing a song from Eb major to D major, and in D major the third scale degree is an F# (not a Gb).

deebe you can already change this in settings>lyrics and pdf and scroll down to chord settings.

Is it possible to add a new feature that equalizers all volumes of the music files?

We notice a lot of volume differences when using the app on stage

In version 4 I already have a volume normalization algorithm implemented directly in the app. That will make things easier.

would love to know some more about your algorithm and how it works, what curve is it based on etc

Is this an existing algorithm or your own design

It's my own algorithm that computes the average power of the signal in certain time slices. I have tested it against ReplayGain. It is not as accurate but most of the time within +/- 1dB of what ReplayGain detects on your average pop song. With very dynamic material you might get a bigger difference to ReplayGain. But I consider it good enough to get in the ballpark where you need to be.

Peter, thanks so much for all your hard work. I know my partner is longing for some sort of master and slave device functionality. I think he just wants st3 on Mac in a safe place on stage, by the desk, and wants to trigger stop play etc from front stage. The 5m usb c cables I’m using in to my x air seem a bit dodgy I’ve found.

I plan on adding some kind of remote functions. You will not be able to control everything. But starting / stopping playback, controlling audio regions and selecting songs within a playlist will hopefully be possible. More than that will most likely not be possible.

An alternative that already works is to use a remote desktop app like Duet to control your Macbook from an iPad on stage.

Hi Peter.

I’m not a Mac user, but stage tracks works really well with rtp midi over Wi-Fi on my windows laptop. I embed the prg changes in lyrics, and my software receives the commands over Wi-Fi. This is much better than trying to cope with a rather limited 5m Usb c to printer type cable in to my x air.

I think the idea of having slave and master iPads without any Mac’s or laptops would go down well with users too. So I wish you the best of luck with version 4.
