Hi I have noticed in a previous post that CDG is not supported, is there any chance of this being added as I have spent many hours creating CDG files for all my tracks
Other wise I will have to go through the procedure again around 500 times lol
CDG file Addition
Sorry, I am not aware of any library I could use to read this format and I will not spend months to implement it myself. The demand is simply not there.
No problem I’ll figure something out,
A great pity it's not considered more.... I'm pretty sure there would be a large rush to use this program rather than any other if it did have the option to play mp3/cdg.
I'm using Grinta Pro to play mp3/cdg at the moment but I also have ST3 installed and prefer a lot in ST3 over the other program. However - like Heydj - I have 7-800 tracks I would need to sit - copy and paste and then time align lyrics. I'm 66 I don't think I have enough life left to complete.
Good friend of mine hires outsourced coders to build modules for his needs - it's quicker and cheaper to put it out to construct rather than sit all day self coding....
For now - resigned to a no go... which is a shame...
Heydj If you don't mind me asking - what do yoiu use to creat cdg files.... and would you creat for others?
Thanks
ScubaBadger still wishing it would be added... I'd happily pay £50+ for the app if it did.

ScubaBadger I am in the same boat
Except now I can use Logic Pro 11 stem cell separator to create my backing tracks which is quite a good result and fast for what I need.
peter I believe if you did it - the demand would appear. Just because folk don't come in here and ask doesn't mean people don't want. Often people will look at an app - find it hasn't got what they want and move on.
Currently 95% of what I use is in an alternative app that plays cdg tracks. I've only loaded a few licensed wav files and typed in the lyrics and done the timing on ST3. My main player app that does operate cdg files is holding over 2,000 tracks on it and that would take over a year to introduce to ST3 timing and typing.
I'd happily pay £50 for ST4 with .cdg capability and I know several other singers who'd do the same - we've discussed it many times.

For me CDG is an outdated format (from the end of the 80s). It was in the middle between laser disc and DVD. You needed special karaoke players, Phillips CD-i players or a cheap asian DVD-player. Or meanwhile special softwares like kjams or karafun. I collected karaoke-files for over 25 years, but about 20 years ago we converted CDGs to modern (standard)formats like mp3+g or to a video format (mpg, mp4). For me CDG is a very basic video format, the lyrics can not be edited (in stage Traxx), because they are converted to pixels. So if you have a good working system with 2000 files, I would not see a reason to switch to stagetraxx. I have a professional karaoke-system with more than 20.000 songs, but the only thing I use are the audios of some songs (after converting) with self edited lyrics.
