I accept that.

But it’s not about fixing it.
It’s a whole new app. I get that. But you cannot just play off a list you have already made.

That makes it useless.

I have persevered with an open mind but it is so far from the old app and does not work for a live performance. The que is ok but why make that the only way to play a list?
The write up says it is. And that that’s not like any other app. It’s like Microsoft doing windows 10 to be like apple and it’s just failed and has made millions of people buy an apple. The problem is not offering any more support for the old version. ?
Thats just crazy. The new app is not an improvement. It’s a whole different way of working and it is not quick and simple. It’s complex and you will make so many live errors because you cannot play your existing lists.

I hoped it would be user friendly. It’s not.

Gig it. It’s a nightmare.

I may just design the app myself with what a live act needs.

Who needs the graphic view of a song? Why? For the show part? No one ever does.

Why can’t ya use ya existing lists. Have the option do not use the que? It’s a new idea but pointless. It’s all about speed and quick changed live. This is a complex nightmare. Should have stuck with what you had and offered more options and customer ability to change and tweak. What we wanna see. It’s way too busy. So let us decide.

Seein in so many people struggle and it’s sadly gonna ruin the reputation in a few weeks.

Just improve the old app. Do a new one but don’t drop the tried and tested one that millions of us have. That’s foolish peter.

Yes you can play off a playlist.. only requires ONE operation.. open your list of playlists by selecting play list at the bottom. When the list displays, click the |> icon at the right end of the line. That will add the entire playlist to the quue. Select queue and use it like you did with ST2. This is in the online manual.

JDSMUSIC the playlist on ST3 behaves nothing like ST2 and I totally echo OP point of view.
Using this live i get epilepsy ☹️

    JDSMUSIC
That’s an extra step compared to ST2 - a wholly unnecessary one. I would really like to know why you defend a more complicated method of doing things when the way it was before had zero problems. You tap on a song and hit play. Why is that such a problem? Why should it be more complicated than that?

I REALLY dislike playing a set list. If you have heard me play once then you know whats next. It was not real easy to rearrange songs. While performing, I READ the crowd and "stack" the queue for what to play next. I do not find it complex or difficult whatsoever. I have been doing this for 10 years... used a karaoke playter to play my backing tracks before finding Stage Traxx. This new ST3 is light years ahead of anything out there. But, I respect your opinion.

      JDSMUSIC
      thank you.

      I get that.

But you then wanna pop to list 3 play one then while it’s playing pop to another.

Then just play 3 from that list.

It’s not user friendly. That’s my point.

The list idea may be useful but should not be the only way.

The previous app worked fine. List to list. Or not. This thing forces you to have to go to a que.

      it makes no sense.

Making a live use app that has numerous actions before you can do anything is contradictory to what it’s meant yo do. It’s when ya live on stage it gets muddled.

Its like its it’s been released with so many issues.

Anyway thank you for your reply. I use these things for my work every day and this is all over the place.

Do do you know how you add ya drop box songs?
That simple process on the old app is so complex here again. I have tried to find it in the manual. It says it. It says you do this but not actually how.

JDSMUSIC while it’s cool to have new and improved features for those who want/need them, to completely abandon the old simple and straight forwardness of the old app isn’t working for already a handful of us. Learning curve of new features aside, we can’t just jump into uncharted waters when we’ve been accustomed to the old app that worked perfectly for some of us.
I know Perer has worked hard for this new app but some of us can’t cope with the enormous changes.

I will likely to never use the queue. You love it? Ok, cool. Peter promised to change the playlist back to normal and this way we can both enjoy working with one app 😁

        Sharonzaz it’s just frustrating.
the old app needed a tweak.
Let us decide what we want on the screen. Take off the wav display. Add clock etc. User friendly.
        Consumer choice.
there is zero competition in this field so it’s time to just do an app from a singers view.
Peter is good to have tried and listen to feedback.
why abandon the old app. So many use it every day. It’s just madness to get rid of something that’s so good.

        JDSMUSIC
The very first sentence of your post is the very problem that we’re talking about in ST3 which is not a problem in ST2. I too hate set setlists and in ST2, even though it is a setlist, you can play any song in that list at any time of your choosing. All without having to go to a different page (Queue) just to play the song.
And if you’ve actually used ST2, you would know this.

I don’t see your point or understand your preference for the more complicated method in ST3.

It is rare... very rare indeed that a more complicated method is actually better than the simpler method.

I am hopeful, not to mention very appreciative, that @peter can make these small changes for us. That way you can have it your way and so can we. Everybody be happy.

Also, like Sharonzaz, I too would be more than happy to pay more for a simpler method of use.

I agree with most points having purchased and tried to understand the V3.
Just cant see it working for my on live performances where I often have one 3hr playlist and others for background music.
I too would have preferred a “super V2”
with some of the new features but not all and really not convinced by the queue thing.
I used to have (and loved) Showplay in the dark days when I used a pc laptop for gigs.
ST was nearest I found for iPads and does almost all I need.
Agree on the waveform display ... what earthly use other than taking up valuable space ?
Tempo and pitch changes are excellent otoh.
I certainly won’t want to refund as Peter deserves to be paid for his hard work (even if it’s not what many of us want) and I’m sure he’ll be bending over backwards to make ST3 work the way the customer want.
Like others, I would be happy to pay for a V2 with improvements and updates when needed to comply with future iOS changes.
Just my “ point de vue “ 😉

SoloGuy yes, if ST2 keeps getting updated and moves forward without the new features I’d be happy to pay for it again if it means Peter needs funds to keep it alive. Call it ST3-lite for all I care and just keep those features identical to ST2, just bring dark mode in (😁) and keep making it work with future iOS versions?

Sharonzaz would suit me fine !
my aging brain has enough to cope with as it is and I can do without a new learning process for an app which isn’t going to simplify my gigs... quite the opposite 🙁

AlanC76 I think all the other bells and whistles would have been much easier to get used to if we could all just use the app the way we always have and learn about the new features as we use it.

                  Guys.
When you are in the Queue page and any song is playing and provided you have “Show lyrics on Play”selected in settings ,press the Playlist tab this takes you into your Playlist page.
Use it exactly as ST2.And ignore the que tab.
Been using it this way for weeks while I experiment .

Sharonzaz Sorry but I been using ST2 from the very start.
So for me and the way I use it this works perfectly.
But I understand we all have our own ways.
I think Peters latest suggestions will solve a lot of fears.

                    Bazz02
so you still have to transfer your playlist to the queue before being able to see and use the playlist ?? It’s a new concept I don’t think I like... and don’t understand so far and won’t risk experimenting at next gig.
Of course I could and will test at home but conditions are never anywhere near those of a live gig.
What blocks me is having to do extra manipulations where before I just opened a playlist and played 😉
thats all I need and want, so the problem for some of us isn’t really whether V3 is better, worse or whatever but that we prefer to use V2 with a few extra options if possible AND the guarantee that updates will remain available to ensure compatibility with future iOS.
Paying extra isn’t an issue. This app is my breadwinner and paying for Peter’s time and effort is only right.
Personally I’m convinced the V3 is awesome, it just doesn’t suit my needs.
Knowing how devoted Peter is, I’m sure he’ll come up with something to suit our different needs 😉
                    Cheers from froggy land !
