Some of my singe track files are medleys and the tempo will vary between songs. I guess there would be no way possible to have the midi clock be mapped within the file? That would be awesome if it could. If not I guess I will have to break the medley apart and make each song a separate file to do it. Not the end of the world but it would be cool if it could be all in one file and have the tempo change and send it out to MIDI.

Soundtrack2life hi Joe, can’t you now have 12 songs in one by using the looping system and place your midi commands anywhere you like to trigger your devices? and jump to any song you like in any order on the run.
You can also change tempo on the run.
What is your specific midi need?
I don’t understand your exact requirements to be able to help properly.
Cheers Damir
I have not dove into the looping yet need to do that!
Soundtrack2life if I had a long medley I would just load it in to ST3 3.6 break it up in to as many loops as required enter all lyrics and time code them insert chord changes Then if I needed to control midi devices at particular times create a midi control changes as required setup my remote pedal so I can change tempo and away I go . This gives you freedom to jump around your long medley if you want to shorten or lengthen it and many more features are also there for you to choose what you need to how you perform.
So there is no one way but many to setup ST3 to perform.
Hope this helps

Soundtrack2life You can also change tempo on the run
So how would I do this?
ST3 has the capability to speed up and slow down a song without changing pitch, this is like having old style midi data triggering samples, except it is doing it to the audio file, so this makes midi obsolite in some ways as that was the only major difference,
Plus now that you can loop sections of the audio file you can jump around a song just like midi files were good at doing, so now midi controlis useful to change guitar pedal presets, lighting triggers and so on but it has replaced the midi sequencers as we knew them because it can do all that now with real instrument recordings.
You have a choice of ways to change tempo , simply by enering song properties, you can assign the two smart buttons next to stop/start to change tempo, or program your bluetooth foot switches to control the tempo / speed of the song, also song details has the fader there to change speed, so midi is really a thing of the past now.
Checkout the instructions and learn all the things ST3 can do and you might change the way you do things that will speed up your prep time and improve your on stage presence.
Cheers Damir
Soundtrack2life Songs with tempo changes having the BPM send the Midi Clock info
To do what?
Tempo changes don't apply to the midi clock data. That will always send the fixed value you set in song details. So the only way to have medleys with different tempo sent via MIDI clock is actually to split it up into multiple songs and use autoplay for playback.
Peter that is what I figured I would have to do or just not worry the MIDI clock (for my guitar & vocal delays) does not match the entire medley.
If your delay is only slightly audible and not used as a clearly audible effect. You will definitely be fine with a single tempo. I myself keep the delay mostly at 500ms throughout whole gigs and don't bother adjusting the tempo for that.
