Hi Peter, not sure if you are aware the problem of repeat playing the same song still has a problem.
When you select the now playing song to be next when the now playing song finishes and sets up the same song to be ready to play again and the next song to be the song below it which is correct when you hit play to start this song again it actually plays the next song instead. This is incorrect.
I noticed the time clock does not reset to zero on this repeat request it remains on the end time so obviously it thinks it’s the end of the song and when you hit play it immediately stops and cues up the next song.
You need to make it so it also resets the time clock to zero when the same song is repeated.
Hope this helps, this is all in playlist mode.

I have just noticed in Song mode you can’t select the next song to be the same song at all, so again we have two different playback logic’s which is very confusing.
The playlist logic is the best for on stage use if it actually worked correctly.
Cheers Damir

Damn, this is really hard to tackle.

peter good luck I wish I could help.
There are things I like in song mode play that playlist mode doesn’t do and yet I like some things in playlist mode that song mode does not do , I wish all the good things could be incorporated in to both modes and the two modes to be identical.
I will mention them and see what you think, perhaps once you work out the obvious problems you can consider creating 1 system for both.
Auto play in song mode does not get remembered it only performs its task once on a song and is disabled and not remembered.
In playlist mode Auto play is always remembered by a song this is not ideal because if you have random songs chosen to auto play to suit your set performance any further uses of auto play that you only need this once off will contaminate your playlist, then you will need to spend a lot of time afterwards to clean up you set list again.
That’s why I have suggested earlier to have playlist auto play behave like the song mode while a song is playing and when a song is not in play have the Auto play behave like the playlist mode.
This then keeps your playlists uncontaminated while performing live yet you can permanently change you playlist auto play settings by being in STOP mode and prepping for your next gig.
Saving a lot of time and yet giving you freedom to use auto play while performing live at anytime.
    Simply put.
STOP mode Auto play gets remembered in playlist and song mode.
PLAYING mode Auto play is temporary, just a once off

    Cheers Damir

Damir Auto play in song mode does not get remembered it only performs its task once on a song and is disabled and not remembered.

Autoplay is a feature of a playlist, not of a song. It makes no sense in song list because depending on the filter and song order the next song in the list will be different.

Damir STOP mode Auto play gets remembered in playlist and song mode.
PLAYING mode Auto play is temporary, just a once off

This is an interesting idea. Didn't think of that. I'm just not sure if this might confuse users too much. I already know I will receive support emails reporting a bug that the autoplay setting is only remembered sometimes. So implementing this would need to make it visually different than the standard autoplay. Maybe a blinking autoplay icon or something like this.

peter Auto play might be a playlist feature but it contaminates your playlist if you use it spontaniously while performing.
My experiance is, when i prepare a playlist at home i normally dont play right through songs i just make a decision to which songs should play through to the next and then i expect that to happen every time i use that playlist, now the problem is when you perform live you follow the crowd and sometimes you hit auto play as needed, now you have just permanently changed this playlist but this is not what you want to happen next time as the crowd might be different. So now you need to go home and reset this playlist to original this is a waste of time.
So my suggestion is just dont allow auto play to be remembered while a song is playing. This behaviour is exactly like SONG mode is right now which is great and i wish playlist mode was this way while i am playing a song, BUT you need to be able to program your playlist and i find i normally choose auto play while of my playlist songs while no song is playing as i am now editing my playlist at home i do not need to play my songs right through as its a waste of time and i know what my songs sound like, i just need to activate auto play on varying songs and for this to be remembered when i perform , then again i say while i am performing i need the freedom to change auto play without changing my playlist i have spent a lot of time on to have to do it again and again after every performance, this is a nuicance.
I am not fussed about the SONG mode auto play but it would be nice to have both modes behave the same to avoid confusion, there is no need to change anything as far as flashing auto play etc , simply put jus dont allow the auto play in playlist to contaminate the playlist while performing, this should be done in STOP mode.

This sould also apply in reverse if you have auto play enabled on a song in playlist and the song is playing disabling the Auto play should also not permanently change this setting, to permanently change settings you need to be in STOP mode.
This then gives you freedom on stage to use this feature as the moment requires it yet does not change the default playlist that you have put a lot of effort to create.

After sleeping over it I think your proposal makes sense. I will add it as a todo for version 3.5.

peter changed the title to Change behavior of autoplay button while playing .

Totally agree with this change…it would make such a difference for those of us using playlists and having to “reset” the auto play each time it’s used…thanks Peter !
