I often need to delete ALL songs and import new ones ... it seems you have to delete each song one by one, is there a way of deleting ALL songs in one go?
DELETE ALL songs in one go?
Yes there is. in your songs list, at the top click edit, then on the bar that pops up at the bottom - on the left there is a circle with a tick mark in it. Click this then select the trash can at the opposite end of the bar -- all songs gone. Quite easy to accidentally delete all. would have been good for a pop up to ask "are you sure" before it actually deletes your full database.

Yes Dave, thats in SONG mode and your complete song data list and it is great, BUT this does not apply if you are in PLAYLIST mode and this is something i also pointed out earlier, most people would be manipulating their playlists and would need this ALL feature there instead.
You could also go to ST3 folder select all Delete and refresh database if you wanted a clean slate and thats fine, BUT there is no way to select all in PLAYLISTS where there is no other option you just cant do anything, appart from deleting a playlist and recreating the same name playlist which is not a great solution but its the way i do it as it is quicker than individually deleting songs, this does not work if you just wanted to keep a few songs and get rid of most, it would really help to have ALL in playlist when you want to filter your playlist where you need to get rid of majority of songs but not all.It would save a lot of time.
I suggested to Peter to make the EDIT function in PLAYLISTS the same as in SONG mode with slight variations to maintain consistancy and easy work flow i believe he is on to it so hopefully that will be available soon.
Cheers Damir
peter yes that’s true but as I said select all is very handy when you want to keep minority of songs it’s faster to select all and deselect the ones you want to keep. And playlists is the area where songs get rearranged and added or removed to suit gigs mostly , having select all is more important there than SONGS where you might use all only to clear the song folder or perhaps change the colour, yet you can’t select all and change colour in playlist where it’s really needed.
Damir I agree and a more consistent edit mode for playlists is on my todo list. The problem is that there is already a toolbar present when not in edit mode and I am not sure yet about the best approach to this problem. Maybe move the current options in the toolbar that all affect the playlist itself to a new dialog "Playlist Details" similar to "Song Details" and then only show the same toolbar as in the songs tab in edit mode. I haven't made up my mind yet.
