The play feature on ST3 seems to have been corrupted somehow. Initially I can play a song - halt it and play again. But repeatedly when I move to another song and press play, it adds it to the queue and shows it as playing (pause bars are on the screen - not the start arrow) however the song does not play - If i then stop the play mode and try to start it again just adds itself to the queue. Do I have an incorrect setting somewhere. ? This problem has only happened this week …. everything was working very well before that …. Is it a problem of the latest update ?

It would be great if I could reproduce the issue. I have just tried with playback of about 100 songs and it works fine on 3 different iOS devices. Could you provide some details:

  • What iOS version are you running?
  • Which formats are you files in? Do you have different sample rates?
  • Do you have an audio interface connected?
  • Are you playing multitrack songs?
  • When you press stop, the button changes to the play button, right?
  • What happens then when you select another song?

If I can't reproduce this today, I will roll back the changes of the 3.4.1 update and will try to get a hold of the problem in a test version.

Would you be available for beta testing a possible fix on Testflight?

    Not sure. Seems like this is a problem that only some users have.

    I’m having the same problem. Once I play a song, I used to be able to pause it and then double tap a new song to start it (in the songs menu). Now when i do that it does nothing, and then i’m also unable to continue playing the song that was just playing.

    Mine works fine only when fade is enabled there are some issues.

    Also guys maybe write your iPad and iOS version? Maybe there’s an issue in one or the other? I had an issue with some bugs on iOS 12 but updated to 14 and all is fine now

    This keeps happening to me on a particular song in a particular playlist, but it doesn’t happen consistently. I’ve let the playlist run through numerous times at home, only for it to stick when on stage. The only thing that seems to work is closing the app and then restarting it…which looks terrible on stage…and even worse if I have a sound guy operating my tracks at the other end of the room.

    I tried creating a new playlist and copied all the songs across. It played through just fine at home and then stuck again last night in front of 2000 people.

    This problem didn’t happen until I tried using the digit 3 remote, which I’ve since disconnected (that’s a whole other load of tech that I haven’t yet gotten my head around and will have to go on pause until I have the time to figure out how to use it). The first (and only) gig where I tried to use the digit 3 remote, meant that the digit 3 seemed to interrupt, or override the I individual song continuous play settings. I had to again shut down the app and re start to be able to play the next track.

    These issues have been happening for a while, but it’s not been on every gig, and covid has meant that I’ve been gigging less than usual over the past year. Now we’re starting to get in to the swing of things, I need to get my tracks working properly.

    Would it be worth deleting that particular track from the ST3 library and re uploading it? Does it make any difference if the track is accessed via iTunes, or from a local file?

    The really frustrating thing is that this only happens periodically, and only EVER when I’m on stage!

    All problems in this thread have been resolved as of version 3.4.10.

    What operating mode are you using for the digit 3? Maybe it is interfering with other music apps if you use mode 4. Make sure to use mode 2 or 3.

    Regarding the song: please send it to support@stagetraxx.com. I will take a look if I can reproduce any issues. Please also describe the issue you see. Does playback not stop or is it not possible to press play on the next song?

    I’ll give digit 3 another go when I can.

    Re the song: do you mean send you the file itself? Playback both stops and the play button is not displayed, only the pause button is displayed

    Yes, please send me the audio file. Open song details in Stage Traxx. It will show you the filename. Then switch to the Files app, go to the Stage Traxx 3 folder and send that file via "Share" to the support email.
