You can name your tracks whatever you want in the DAW. When bouncing a track to Logic asks me for a filename.

You can name the files whatever you like. The sheme you used as an example will work well or if you have very long names you can shorten them. Just make sure they don't collide with existing files. I don't think there is a maximum filename length on iOS. It is completely up to you.

Just understand: Songs in Stage Traxx point to audio files via filename. If you change the name of a file or move it somewhere else Stage Traxx will no longer be able to find it.

peter Thanks for explaining things Peter.
I like the simplicity of it, but i cant help myself i have to report on its actual usability.
It will only work well for those that have fixed instruments requirement.I play for a multi cultural audience of varying ages, i use a wide range of instruments.
The issue is if you label every track with a name of song first and an instrument at the end to identify it
You will get just the name of the song showing on all the tracks and the part you actually need to see is hidden.
Looking at it another way you can label the tracks, yes, but that locks you in for those tracks to be there for all your songs, this does not work either unless you are a fixed band and only allways reguires the same instruments for all your songs and all you want is to be able to mute some if you rearange the band because tha drummer or bass player didnt turn up.
Thats fine if thats all thats you intended multitrack for, but i feel that would be a minority of users.
If you have 300 songs x6 thats 1800 files every song having 6 identical file name appart from the back end of the song that distinguishes their difference that cant be seen on screen just does not work.
I love the coceipt and i could use it but it would eventually ware me down once i got to the 50th song perhaps earlier.I tried 2 and found it awkward.
Perhaps if the track names were remembered for every song i could persevere that way when you play a song and use Multitrack edit you would see what you are tweaking.
Sorry for the negative report but i dont beat around the bush i say it as it is and no matter what i still think this program is the only one to use for backing.
Nothing is near it.
And we are all very lucky and grateful to you for providing it to us perhaps we need to open up a thread WHAT I LOVE ABOUT ST3 😁

Did you try it? This is simply not true. There is a lot of space to even see long titles and if it is still too long, the middle part is shortened, not the start and certainly not the end. The important parts are visible. Look at "Don't Stop 'Til...":

peter Sorry Peter you missunderstood my innitial point, i was not talking about that, i was talking about Multitrack Edit drop down window, after when you have allready loaded the songs in to tracks, if the song has a slightly longer name you cant see the actual instrument you are dealing with, and this is very important, the song name is not anymore as it has been loaded already, but its the only thing you see in every track .
Thats all i was always reffering to and i gave you a method of solving that in my long ramble of how i would do things if i only knew how.
I can see this is not going to be simple to fix with the current method you are using.
Even if you change the TKACKs naming in settings this will then fix your track names to the same instruments for all songs.So this wont work.
That also cant help unless you are wanting to only having six instruments to deal with for all your songs like a simple 4 to 8 peace band that might need a fill in or change of instrument because a member didnt turn up for the gig.
As you can see i just call my tracks TK 1 etc this then identifies which track im on, but i cant see what instrument im dealing with, and thats my problem.

Ah, now I see. I thought you meant the file browser. You are right, filenames should not be truncated at the end but in the middle in the app. I will change that in the release version.

Hi Peter, i allready reported on the playlist EDIT function not working properly but i found something extra i hope it helps to fix it.
When you open a playlist the Edit bar at the bottom is immediately shown now hit home button on ipad and then return back to ST3 you will notice the Function bar has gone, now hit the Edit button to try and reveal the edit functions, it does not bring up the functions bar at the bottom but does reveal the useless red buttons on the left of all songs and allows you to rearange your songs.

Just to make sure you got my previous message i will ask again, if you can simply change those useless round red delete buttons in to selection buttons and allow us to colour the songs in the playlist, add a rubish bin in the bottom bar so we can also remove multiple songs from the playlist. Basically create the same logic of operation as SONG mode to avoid confusion and streamline workflow.

Finally, I have submitted the final version 3.4.0 for app review. It should be available in a few days. This release will be stretched over 7 days. This means that not everyone will be offered the update at the same time. So please be patient with the update.

Thank you very much for your help. Thanks to you I have been able to fix a number of really serious bugs!

The final version has some more bug fixes compared to the last beta version:

mute buttons are now numbered
fixed deactivating solo in multitrack eq did unmute muted tracks
fixed crash when deleting a track while other track audio files are missing
filenames for multitrack files are now truncated in the middle
fixed crash when restoring database only backups
fixed database only backups containing multitrack files

Version 3.4.0 for iOS and macOS is now available on the AppStore. If you don't get an automatic update notification, open the App Store search for "Stage Traxx 3" and then update.
