My mixer (X32) has a 31 band GEQ and 6 band PEQ in the output busses and I started of with the GEQ but I find myself more and more working only with the 6 band PEQ because it is way more versatile. With a single band I can do anything from surgical cuts (steeper than a single band of the GEQ) to broad boosts that would need multiple bands of the GEQ.
If your songs really need more than 4 PEQ bands to fix, you might want to take another shot at mixing or mastering the song.
To be clear, the master GEQ will stay in Stage Traxx. But the 3 fixed band eq might be replaced with a 4 band full parametric eq. Another reason to do this is that the current 3 band settings can easily be converted into a 4 band PEQ preset meaning that there would be no sound surprise for anyone updating.
