Kevtyler Hi mate, as I said it’s not how I work, but if our friend wants 6 buttons and you want 2, I think you should agree on 6 maybe and use only 2 and hope that the long press short press thing is an option?.

I’m just worried that if Peter implements this and wastes a lot of effort it might turn out to be a waste of time because of all the reasons I mentioned earlier , while there are still little things that need improving that benefit greatly on stage solo users, are not addressed.

Yes I get you Damir, but if our friend wants 6 buttons, you have to leave it to Peter to decide if he wants that? I doubt Peter would change anything that’s going to upset the majority of users??

Personally I think people making requests maybe should collaborate more, and pitch one idea to Peter, maybe we wouldn’t wreck his head so much if he wasn’t receiving duplicate pitches for near identical features.

I'll reiterate what you can't currently do in ST4:

With a pedal, you can't select a specific region; you only have previous and next.
The jump button changes abruptly and out of sync.
If the song is in a section without a region, you can't select and jump to another region; you can only use the jump button, but even then, it's not synchronized.
If I select a region, I can't set certain tracks to mute or unmute when playing that region.
ST4 doesn't handle bars, which is how we musicians create music. There are applications that support both. Therefore, if you are in an area of the song that doesn't have a region, you can't switch to a specific region, and if you are in a region that lasts a long time, you have to wait for it to end.

This can be corrected with 6 jump buttons that allow you to select a specific region and jump to it in a synchronized manner (once the measure where you activated the region ends). The fact that these 6 buttons exist doesn't eliminate the other existing possibilities; it only reinforces the user's need to use controller pedals and always use regions that repeat the same actions in all songs, as I already explained. ST4, I believe, is designed to use tracks and allow for flexibility with them. I don't think it's for inventing a song live, using 64 possibilities. It's possible, but in my years of experience, it's not done that way. You establish repetitive actions such as:

Go to the beginning of the song
Go to the end of the song
Have two points to repeat the song, such as from a chorus or a brass or specific instrumental
Have a region To activate it and then do solos and animations
You can see each jump because in the pancake you name each region, and that's not new.
Okay, for many this is more than enough.

I totally agree with all your points , but there’s a reason for all of them.
1 and 2, ST4 only recognises time. Not bars.
3 there would be thousands of combinations possible in all your songs , you would never remember them.
So good idea that’s not useable on stage.
4 you are correct ST4 does not handle bars , so segment the whole song to suit yourself. I do.
I don’t disagree with you but we have what we have , it still works on stage reasonably well , is it perfect , no, but there’s nothing out there that comes even close to it.
Keep up the ideas .
