I purchased ST3. I wish to restore the FULL BACKUP that i made from the original device to a new device.
I installed the ST3 onto a new device, and did the IN APP PURCHASES on the new ST3 app. The dialog box says that the app was UNLOCKED. Now, however, when I choose RESTORE BACKUP I see the 106 sound files in DROPBOX but they are disabled (grayed out) and no restore occurs. Help!

Restore will restore a backup from version 2, not your audio files. If you are using local files in st2, make sure to copy them into the st3 folder first and then restore the backup from st2.

If you don't see your st2 backup in Dropbox, check that you did upload it into Dropbox from version 2.

Peter, I never owned (or used) version 2. This is all been version 3.1.2(4816).

OK, so then you just need to move the backup from your original device to the new device. You can do that by moving the file via Files app into Dropbox or iCloud.

Unfortunately, there is no single backup file anywhere. Only the individual .mp3 files in the Stage Traxx files folder.
I presume backup/restore is 'hard coded' in the app since I don't see a place in the app where one could specific the location to put backup files. Where else might I look for a single backup file created from ST3? Thank you.

The backup files are always written into the Stage Traxx 3 folder. You can then move them with the Files app.

    Good morning guys 🙂

please ignore my my previous post. I was half asleep when I wrote that.

Ureka! At last! Yes here's what I did to get my single backup file (.st3) to restore its contents into the ST3 app on ANOTHER DEVICE. As you said, Peter, to create the Full Backup and see it in the Stage Traxx 3 Folder. Once the backup file (one file) was created and in the Stage Traxx 3 folder, I then copied it to the ROOT DIRECTORY of DROPBOX. I did not copy it to the Stage Traxx 3 Folder but rather I copied into the ROOT DIRECTORY of Dropbox.
Then I went into the new ST3 app and did a RESTORE BACKUP and my 106 music files were added to the new device ST3. So, simply

    1. Create the FULL BACKUP,
    2. Copy (or move) the single backup file to the Root Directory of Dropbox on the device where the backup was created, and
    3. Move to the new device and ST3 installed (paid version) and do a RESTORE BACKUP. That's it.
Thank you Peter for your help and patience. 🙂

Help, I created a FULL Backup file but when I try to restore I get a message "Stagetraxx3 needs access to the media library.
I think I denied permissions initialy and deferred to later not knowing this would result. How do I restore StageTraxx access to the media library?

Go to iPad settings, scroll down to Stage Traxx 3 and enable it there.

I did a full backup In my iPad (ST3), then imported to Stage Traxx 3 in my MacBook Pro. Some songs have the audio missing.

      I did exactly these steps:

      "Create the FULL BACKUP,
Copy (or move) the single backup file to the Root Directory of Dropbox on the device where the backup was created, and
Move to the new device and ST3 installed (paid version) and do a RESTORE BACKUP. That's it.
Thank you Peter for your help and patience. 🙂"

      What am I missing?

As you can see, the song "Chorando Se foi" shows the wave form, but there is no audio.

I see that the .wav files are in the Multitrack-fFiles ST3 folder.
But somehow ST3 didn't load it properly. I don't want to add them manually. What can I do?

peter could you please take a look? I have. a gig coming up and need these restored properly.

The wave files are there but they are not recognized? Never heard about that problem before. Can you send a database only backup to support@stagetraxx.com? I would like to take a look at it.

Also try to send the full backup via Airdrop to the other iPad. That is more reliable.

I sent an email now with the database. Please could you take a look?

I did send also with airdrop. Same problem happens.

I took a look at the backup and can't see a problem. Only thing I noticed is that there are some songs with () within the file name. Does the problem only happen on these songs or are all songs affected?

Let me know if there is anything else I can collect to help you debug it. Thanks.

We are continuing the conversation on email and I will write the conclusion into this thread to document it once we found the issue.
