  • iTunes not saving song info on pc, making lyric editing tough.

Hi guys

im not sure what is going on, this is a new one for me but it’s mentioned all over the net. I created 16 new songs on my pc with Sony sound forge, I normalized them and saved them to an iTunes playlist and synced my iPad. I then went back to the laptop and started getting lyrics for the songs and chords and noticed that iTunes was not saving the info. I transferred the songs to another machine and have noticed it was the same. I have checked that the file attributes are allowing editing. I tried adding the chords and lyrics with the free editor in copy trans, and this looked fine till I synced the pad and discovered none of the lyrics had gone over. Has anyone got any ideas where I’m going wrong please.

Im baffled , I have not done the latest iOS update, could it be that? I’m using win 10 and iTunes 10 12 5.12

cheers

Which file format are you using? WAV files for example don't support tags. So you might try AIF instead.

    Hi peter, hi guys,

yes it was mp3s from karaoke version saved as wavs, to be honest I thought that when you added them to the library from say your desktop that iTunes converted them and put them in c/ blah blah / iTunes media and then you could add lyrics in the song info box in tunes and then re sync them. So sorry to bother you all.

Ok guys well my mystery is solved, I made 2 folders one with the mp3s one with wavs and I have labeled everything the same and both groups of files share similar attributes and I well and truly confused myself by adding the wavs to the pad. , so I guess 2 weeks of lock down and crippling gout plus 12 hours a day on these machines will do that to you. Sorry

i hope everyone is safe safe and coping ok with enforced lockdown.
