Add setting for double tap on lyrics (full screen / toggle sidebar)

I was wondering to how to continue a show in LYRICS ONLY VIEW , if we double tap on lyrics and expose lyrics only when the now playing song finishes and the next one pops up ready to go , but I have no start button available here so how do I keep going in this view of choice?
Apart from exiting this view which I rather not do as it might be my preferred view and all my songs are in perfect order and only need a start command.
Without a remote.
Perhaps this is an automated view as it automatically goes back to normal view and as you hit play it goes to lyrics only view.
I’m trying to understand the logic .
Can anyone explain?

I have suggested previously that unless in auto playback mode, if a user has opened the full lyrics screen that the screen automatically closes and reverts back to normal when play back ends, thus enabling user to select and play next song without having to double tap the screen to do so. So far there has been no response to this idea

Yes that’s one good solution to reduce button pushes and I would add another optional solution for those that have no need to select new song but would simply like to continue the show in full lyrics screen by having the play button available in that screen , the advantage of this is you see the new song lyrics before hitting start.
So I propose to have an option to add the play button and a settings option to automate the return to song list mode.

Also consider the Network Session scenario - full screen lyrics in its current form is great for Network Sessioned Client devices that need to see nothing on-screen other than lyrics, and will never need to touch the screen during a gig. In that scenario, definitely don't want it dropping out of full-screen mode.

Yeah, I am only thinking of it in its basic use first , once it’s functional in simple use then other things should also be considered and made workable.

I see , this has been provided for network use , now it’s making more sense, perhaps the solution is very simple, as a solo user I am very happy not needing the full lyrics screen , when I double tap on the lyrics I rather have the screen go lyrics only or song selection and lyrics with stop start always present in both , so perhaps just an option to choose which method suits better is the answer.
I never need full lyrics and no control but on iPhone I want an easy way to jump from song selection and lyrics with all controls in view.
I’m writing this while doing something else so feel free to add thoughts.

AnthonyB I think that’s handled differently than on the host, isn’t it?

I mean, I don’t have to be in lyrics only mode on the host, but the client still sees the lyrics only (or whatever I set it to see)… at least ideally 🙂

Then why try and make a feature you don't want or need to use conform to something that you can already do by closing the sidebar? Just stay in the deafult view and close the sidebar. Open the sidebar when you want to see song list or playlist.

Just a thought, perhaps the method of operation change is automated depending if you are using a network or not , that way the user does not have to do anything ,
The logic assumes if you run simply you need it this way if you introduce networking it changes to suit that way of working.
Just a thought to make life simple.

Full screen lyrics is independent on client and host. Each can decide how they want to use it. I already got a request to change the double tap gesture to close the sidebar instead of opening lyrics. So I guess I could add a selection whether double tap on lyrics should toggle the sidebar or the full screen mode.

In the first beta the assignable commands where also displayed in the full screen view. So you had a way to start playback on the next song. Currently you need a remote command for that. I‘m not sure I would like the full screen mode to auto close when a song finishes. I will need to think about this a bit more.
