jfduval For example (there may be another way to do this), I want playback to pause at the end of a region, but I also want to be able to do a true Stop (rewind) when necessary in other cases.
I understand your want.
I also was suggesting in another post for this type of capability, and I suggested a way to achieve this ,
You just triggered another thought on this.
In your first example the first segment you have a stop programmed which means you want a definite stop on the beat at the end of that loop , but what you also then want only in this loop IF YOU PRESS STOP THE BEHAVIOUR OF STOP TO CHANGE SO AFTER THE BUTTON PUSH THE CURSOR AUTOMATICALLY JUMPS TO THE BEGINNING OF NEXT LOOP as you are expecting to start on the beat , you don’t want the stop pause only on this loop because you chose a STOP on this loop, all other loops that don’t have stop programmed , the stop functions as normal STOP PAUSE .
I hope I have hit it on the nail.
My way of thinking was , your idea is good if you pre program things in advance , but my idea lets you create on the run and create the same effect with one STOP button push but you do miss out having normal STOP PAUSE , you either have one or the other.
Here’s my idea on this in case you didn’t se my post.
In settings we get another option NEXT REGION, by choosing this option this STOPS within a loop and immediately jumps to begining of next loop audio wise but retains the lyrics on screen so when you hit START again the lyrics and audio sync up again on the beat to keep going.
My other thought was depending of which half of the audio region you do this it either goes to the beginning of this loop or the end but I’m not sure if this would be useful to majority.
My idea would serve those that do things on the run your idea serves those that program things in before hand or enjoy tap dancing on a foot pedal while performing ,
Perhaps both options would be handy , I like your idea as well for certain songs you know you want this you can program it .
At the moment I use STOP PAUSE but I never use it to start again I always have to quickly choose a loop to restart, so I would not miss this setting but it’s the best one out of the three to use I certainly don’t want to stop by accident and end up at the start or the next song , TOTAL DISASTER , I did hit stop one by mistake in the middle of nowhere thank god it was towards the end of a verse but I got out of it, I continued to the end without backing and quickly cued up the next chorus loop and hit start ,the audience knew nothing, if that was any other STOP MODE it would have been an embarrass moment.
Sorry for the long conversation but Peter is away so we can have a bit more relaxing discussions while he relaxes.
Please give more thoughts on this because it’s quite important to keep improving our on stage power.
