Song name width in Title bar - Potential bug?

iOS 18 on iPhone 15 Pro

Tried to use ST4 to replace my music player. The clock was showing up at the first place, which ate some horizontal space of title bar. See below:

After rotating horizontally, then back to vertical, it's look ok. See below:

Is this a bug? Or I am not using this correctly?

I have the same issue on my Iphone 16 pro max 26.0.1.
Its been like that for a while and i believe its a Bug , which will probably be fixed in the future.
I really like your INTERFACE LOOK simple and nice exactly how i was imagining it to be nice and simple.
I only would introduce the Xfade and Permanent loop buttons on the right as they were in ST3 remove the zoom buttons and allow them to be set in the two assignable buttons in the bottom blank area if needed as we have zoom already as a pinch gesture.
THIS WOULD MAKE A PERFECT LAYOUT ON IPHONE IN PORTRAIT MODE , is this setup you have shown already available to achieve or did you draw it up yourself?

On iPhone portrait, the clock and timer should never be displayed in the title bar to have room for the title. When exactly does it show up for you? Do you if maybe the iPhone was laying down flat on the table?

Buttons render different on different iOS versions. This is done by Apple not explicitly something I can control in the app.

That's interesting.
I'm not using an iPhone which is going to significantly constrain the width of the Song Title section, but even on my iPads (iOS 16.7.12 and 26.0.1) with a super long song title that doesn't fit completely in the Song Title pane, for me, it still renders it fine and just does the automated scroll left-right thing to scroll through the entire song title.

I wonder if it is specifically an Asian Character set related quirk?

That’s weird my ST4 beta 1884 has a more round stop start button in your photo the button is bigger and more rectangular which I prefer.

I will shutdown my phone and restart incase it’s a reboot thing.

Damir what you are describing is the difference between iOS 18 and below (what @byung is using) and iOS 26 (what you are using)

I have 2 iPads, one with iOS 16.7.12 and the other with iOS 26.0.1 - the first time I had them side by side I was quite astounded at how different ST4 buttons, menus, etc. all render.

AnthonyB Yeah, everything looks uglier on 26 🙂 Maybe @peter could get rid of the round button borders, and then ios 26 will only render them slightly rounded

No, I didn't create a view myself (I wish I knew how to do that).

Well, another reason for me not to update to iOS26 for a while.. 😛

musicadi I just laugh as Apple's "new" Liquid Glass reminds me of the Windows Aero interface in Windows Vista which was released in 2006... Yep, Apple "leading" the way...

AnthonyB Yeah, they like to poke our eyes with "groundbreaking" stuff like this. We have a saying for this in Hungary: "they act as if they were the inventors of sealing wax"

They also like to force us into buying new devices every few years by blocking apps from working on older ones 🙂

Oh, well... still a lot more stable for music production than Windows imho.

Thanks Peter but I do prefer the old rectangular button on stop start , it just gives me a slightly brighter smile when using it.

Oh, you are right! I laid down flat my phone when I started the app, and I saw that clock and elapse time. When I held the phone then started the app, there was no clock! It's like magic!

The problem is when you start the app lying flat, iOS reports that the orientation is "Flat" which is of 0 value when you need to render the interface. If you start in portrait or landscape, ST4 remembers the last orientation and when you then lie down the device and it reports "Flat", ST4 uses the last known orientation. But it can't do that when you start the app up lying flat. No idea how to get around that.

So, to clarify, when a device goes to FLAT, iOS doesn't store the previous orientation (i.e. portrait or landscape) for an App that launches while FLAT to be able to access?
If so, what an weird oversight from Apple!

Correct. It just reports that the orientation is "flat". I really don't see the value in that 🙄

The default orientation when starting up on a phone is now (build 1920) portrait.
