Hey @peter. Would you consider changing the Mute & Solo buttons to be an (S) and (M)? And moving them to the same place? And maybe instead the rotary knob of the Panning, just having a line with a dot or mini bar that you move left & right?

Is just for aesthetic purposes, maybe if you or other agree on this, it can clean up the mixer, make it tighter and still have the same functions.

In my personal opinion, I know is a bit greedy, I consider much more important to have a bigger volume fader, and also adding the function (hold 3 seconds for fine tuning in decimals?) for those of us who have Toc and cannot stand looking at +1.09 db. Just an example lol.

Given how narrow the channel strips are, I feel that a horizontal 'fader' type control would be really difficult to get control over. At least with the rotary 'pot' control, it is common UI behaviour that you can drag past the edge of the pot graphic and it keeps responding, so you have more granular control. I'm not sure if the same behaviour can be applied to a horizontal fader-type control? But I could be wrong about that, I just don't recall using any apps/software that worked that way.

I have no opinion on "S" vs "Solo" or "M" vs Mute.

...but this might be dangerous. If you have them beside each other (or above one-another), and in the midst of a gig you go to mute a track and hit Solo by accident - very very bad! That is why on physical mixers for live use they are usually separated by at least one other functional button.

AnthonyB i understand, but normally many of the digital mixers apps work like this… Soundcraft UI mixers for example. The movement of the horizontal is past the edge. Here’s an screenshot of the Soundcraft mixer app.

I understand the fear of pressing Solo or Mute by mistake, maybe adding a double tap for one of them? Is a valid point to have them separate, in my case I do not mute or solo during a gig, it’s all handled in the soundcheck and set gig ready. But I can see you point guys.

Is just ideas to clean up the mixer, I do have a larger iPad, so I don’t have problem seeing the mixer, but I know some people uses phones, or iPad mini, so having so much on a reduced space can affect them.

I can do the renaming. But the decision to move the solo button away from mute is to prevent accidental taps on the wrong button. That could be fatal. So I am against putting them next to each other. And if they remain in place, I see no need to shorten the button title.

Btw…. That picture I took it from google, and I realized that you can also take a look at the right side and see the way they handled the mute and solo groups, if you need to you can go into their website and use the preview they have of the mixer app and see how it works. I know in some other threads people are asking for mute groups.

Another option can be this one, the way they handle the Mutes and solo is tapping on the track name and mute it, and a small (s) on the top of the fader for the soloing.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass guys, this are just ideas to improve “imho”…

Also, instead of scrolling the entire mixer, they added buttons to see the mixer or busses, making it faster.
