Bug? Full Backup Not completing

I have started a thread here as you requested bugs be reported here as well as change requests.
To summarise my previous comments in the main Beta4 thread;

I attempted a full backup (ie including audio files) in ST4 which did not complete (left overnight).
My total data size is 11gb
I use uncompressed WAV audio files at 48k
Backup of catalog only worked fine. Catalog backup is just 200k
I currently have about 300 songs in ST4. Only about 10% have audio files and most of them a single stereo file.
I have at least another 300 to add, so the data is going to be about twice what it is now. I currently have all my songs in Ableton Live on my Mac. The total data for what I have in Ableton is about 40gb.

I tested backing up the same number of songs etc in ST3 (the same data before it got moved to ST4). That completed in about 20 seconds. Same sort of size, a little over 11gb

So I am guessing there is something not right with the ST4 backup process.

Implemented in build 1810. The settings for creating the zip file are now identical to ST3. Please test.

Hi Peter
That now completes MUCH faster.
My 11.6gb backup took about 30 seconds all in.
The progress indicator is still a bit wonky; starts of saying creating and sits at 20% for about 10secs, then jumps to 89% and says compressing for 15 secs, then ends. No real progress indication at all.
Not a problem really, just saying.
Thank you for fixing. I can sleep easy now, knowing I have a backup! 😄

Yes, the progress indicator indeed is not working correctly. I have debugged this into the zip library and for some reason it does not update on the single files it processes. In ST3 it updates fine. Maybe it has something to do with the preparation of the files needed for the zip operation, there is a difference because ST3 just dumps all files into a single folder in the backup and ST4 needs to retain the folder structure. I'm not sure how to resolve this except exchanging the zip library.

Hey Peter, given the mountain of stuff you are dealing with, this is really not an issue. Thanks for the main fix, that is much better. Progress indicators we can live without 😄. Maybe in the future some time.
