Sharonzaz going to take a guess and say you’ve upgraded to iOS 26 and found a bug perhaps?

My first thought would havce been not enough storage space, but this (in my experience) generates a clean and obvious error message.
Possibly an inaccessible storage location selected?

Could you provide more info (as we love guessing but it does slow things down).

Full backup or Database backup?
If full backup, how large is the audio files folder (i.e. how much data are we trying to backup?)
Where are you trying to save the backup to? (or did you not get that far?)
Please provide full steps to walk us through what you are doing.
What iOS version and ST3 version?

So it seems the backup file was somehow incomplete. Not sure if it happened when I created it or when I moved it to a thumb drive.

New file worked.

The error I posted was from my iPhone iOS 26
But my backup iPad iOS 18 wasn’t working either.
The backup was created on my iPad M2 also iPadOS 18.

Strange but it’s fine now

The file is nearly 30GB is size. I have almost 550 tracks self made all in multitracks.

For the iOS 26 update I will briefly test my iPhone today at the gig during sound check and report if it works fine. I think it should

Unzip Fail always means that the file was not transferred completely. You can see it in the Files app by comparing the file sizes. I'm 100% sure that the file you tried to restore is smaller than on the device where you created the file.

These backup/restore things are usually something simple, like a corrupted file or inaccessible file location.
Glad you found your solution.
