I finally got around to updating the firmware on my WIDI devices (was waiting for a new WIDI Jack to add to my setup).
For me, the process went like this.
- Enable BT on iPad
- Start WIDI app
- Connect to WIDI device
- Update firmware
- Error on re-connect after WIDI device reboot
- I turned off BT on the iPad, then turned it back on
- Go back to WIDI app
- Successful connection to WIDI device
So I didn't need to go as far as forgetting and re-pairing the WIDI device with my iPad; simply turning BT off and on (on the iPad) did the trick. In case it is relevant, I was using an older iPad (4th Gen) running iOS 16.7.12.
