Problems when using multitrack songs in a session

As far as I understood it, providing the name of the track and artist are the same, when playing a muktitrack song in a session, I should still see my lyrics for the song rather than the lyrics on the server. That doesn't work fop me.

Here is what I did. I made a multitrack song with a set of lyrics. I then oploaded the song as an .sta file to an iCloud shared folder. My mate, downloaded the .sta file into his version of Stage Trax. Now to make sure that there was no corruption in the upload/download, I also replaced my version of the song with a download from the shared folder. I then changed my lyrics slightly so that the 2 sets of lyrics were subtly different.
I then joined the session he was hosting. When we played the song, his lyrics appeared on my iPad rather than my modified lyrics.

What am I doing wrong?

OK, so first obvious question, have you enabled "Show Local Lyrics" on the 'client' iPad?

More broadly, from your example it isn't clear where the original song .stsa file export came from - your iPad (which you then turned into the network session 'client'?), a Mac, something else? If the former, I think you're creating a messy scenario to test with as you don't really want multitrack audio files on multiple devices.
Keep it simple:

'Host' iPad - has the multirack audio files, lyric sheet, is the Network session Host.
'Client' iPad - just has a song with lyrics (I prefer to use Lyric only songs), no audio files attached, has 'Show Local Lyrics' enabled.
Make sure song title and artist are absolutely 100% identical (check for trailing blank spaces at end of title/artist)
..and you should find it works fine.

AnthonyB Thank you so much! I have spent hours going through the songs checking that the title and artists are identical ;-(

However, at some time while converting our reportoir to multi track, I must have accidently turned off the show local lyrics option. It is always the simple things that catch you out.

TonyHS Been there, done that SO many times 🙂

When posting these sorts of problems, I always make sure I write down eveything as a clear and logical checklist and check it off as I go in the app. Most of the time I find my mistake and scrap the post!
