Changing Audio Files on desktop

Hi, new to the forum here. I'm using the Stage Traxx App for running Backing Tracks in my band. Could someone direct me on how to update an audio file on the desktop? I've made changes in some of the songs and I don't want to lose everything and delete the song and start over. Can I just overwrite the song? If so, how can this be done on a desktop? I do most of my work on the desktop but will use an iPad for live. Thanks

Jhansenku find your ST3 folder, go to settings, info, show stage traxx 3 files, make sure the replacement song titles are the same , place your updated song in to it and overwrite the old one, then go to SONG mode and resync your folder by a swipe down on the list , to be sure to be sure, and it’s done.
The thing to watch out for is if you have changed the tempo or added/removed audio , your text editor will need fixing to suit your changes , if it’s tone/balance change you should be fine.

Good question! I don’t use my Mac Studio much but I assume if you use your Apple mouse place your cursor in the list and use the scroll wheel to pull down the list from the top , this should engage the sync.

What exactly do you mean by that? Transfer songs to your iPad?

Hi Peter, what I meant was I had to change some things in my backing tracks. So I added the changed audio files on my desk top using the same song name. I had found some instructions on how to do this and they said you have to resync or refresh the songs before the change would take affect. I know how to resync on my phone or iPad by swiping down in the songs section. I was just wondering if you could perform this on the desktop (resync or refresh)? I hope this makes sense? I’m really enjoying the app!

Jhansenku OK, so first, don't set the filename to the songname. Make sure the filename of the audio file is the same as you used originally. Overwrite the existing audio file in the Stage Traxx folder. If you did not change the song length, you don't need to refresh the song list. ST3 will automatically use the updated file.

On the Mac you need to refresh each song individually if you changed song lengths. To do that open song details and tap on the refresh button on top.

peter My filenames are ex: Sweet Emotion Backing Tracks Final.mp3. Then the name of the song is just the name of the song: ex:Sweet Emotion. Just an example. Is that ok? Some of the lengths may have been modified, but not sure how much. I had to change 20 songs. I refreshed the songs on my iPhone just by swiping down. For future reference when you say to refresh each song individually in the song details, are you referring to the 3/4 circle with the arrow on the left upper corner on the desktop app?

I do this frequently after tweaking mixes. I go to the song editor, select file and then browse for the new file. Once the file has been saved to the song you can go to your iPad (provided you are on the same apple account) go to settings and select check for update/sync - You will see a message saying 1 file remaining, or however many you have changed. Not sure if that is what you were looking for.
