Hello,
I’m reaching out to ask for clarification regarding MIDI integration between Stage Traxx 3 (on iPad) and Daslight 5 (on Mac) using a WIDI Uhost interface.
Here is my current setup:
iPad (iOS) running Stage Traxx 3 (Full Version)
WIDI Uhost connected to the iPad via USB-C
MacBook running Daslight 5 with IAC Driver enabled
Goal: to trigger lighting scenes automatically in Daslight using MIDI commands sent from Stage Traxx during live playback
What I am trying to achieve:
Send different MIDI commands from Stage Traxx at specific timestamps in each song (e.g. Program Change 1 at 00:00, Program Change 2 at 00:45, etc.)
These commands should be received by Daslight and mapped to specific lighting scenes
I was expecting this to work via WIDI Uhost connected to iPad, with MIDI data routed to the Mac through Bluetooth or USB and into Daslight via the IAC Driver
What I’ve found so far:
Stage Traxx only appears to allow MIDI output for general actions (Play, Stop, etc.) but not per-song timestamped MIDI events on iPad
Daslight does not seem to detect any incoming MIDI signal when triggered from Stage Traxx over WIDI
I’m unclear whether this is a limitation of Stage Traxx, of the WIDI Uhost routing, or if additional configuration is needed on the Mac
Could you please confirm:
Is it currently possible to send multiple MIDI commands at specific timestamps from Stage Traxx on iPad (Full Version)?
Can those MIDI messages be routed properly through WIDI Uhost and received by Daslight 5 on Mac?
If not, is this functionality planned in a future Stage Traxx update, or is there a known workaround?
Do you recommend a different configuration to achieve this (e.g. Network MIDI, MIDI over USB, or using another app)?
Thank you very much for your help and clarification. I appreciate your time!
Best regards,
Roxana
