Metronome Settings

I am trying to ditch my metronome app and use Stage Traxx for both tracks and met. But I cannot find metronome settings anywhere in the app. What gives?

Running 3.8.32 (9042) on an iPhone with the latest iOS trying to test.

Me_Blue There is no audio metronome built in to ST3 as far as I know, you have a visual metronome that is a rough guide to the beat of your song , but it is fixed to an average tempo of the song , reason is , ST3 does not recognise the beat of your whole song all the way through as it is TIME BASED, the beat setting in ST3 is an average beat of your whole song.
You need to record your CLICK track in a DAW and play it back in ST3 , use the visual click as a guide if you pause/mute your backing for a short period.
Perhaps ST4 will be able to generate a click , Peter is the one to fill you in on that.

Tried creating a test song: 5 mins long, 120 bpm. Tried different options in the song metronome settings but nothing plays. Can’t find any master metronome settings it the main menus.

I’m using the full, paid version.

This has to be done in the DAW , once happy , transfer it to the ST3. PLAYER, as it is a player not a recorder.

I created a lyric only song. Not sure why there are met options there if there is no audio met.

But, if you’re saying there isn’t a met built in to the app, I guess that makes sense.

Bummer, thought ST could be an all in one solution.

I agree, a simple audio click to go with visual metronome might be very handy for some users that want a simple way of operating, I think I suggested this ages ago but was told it’s not possible .

Yep, Metronome is song specific, based on BPM setting, and a visual cue only.

Agreed, it does seem odd that there is no option for an audio metronome given there is a visual one. That said, this was only added in the last semi-major point release (v3.8 - https://stagetraxx.com/user-guide/#whats-new-in-version-38) so maybe Peter has more planned for it for v4 (or not!).

Version 4 will have both visual and audible metronome. But keep in mind that this will be primarily targeted at songs without audio tracks as Stage Traxx does not know where the beats in an audio file are.

peter Absolutely. Makes no sense when there is audio tracks in a song; only for what we know today as "Lyrics Only" songs where there is a bpm and duration.

kenrye Yes, you will be able to choose different sounds and the metronome can be routed to its own output bus (which can be sent to a mono left or right output). Panning is not possible.

Dated post but I agree a standalone metronome option would be golden for this app. I'm new to Stage Traxx but I play live a ton, have my IEMs connected, and songs tee'd up, BTs to FOH, then...

BAM! someone aka band member or audience / karaoke i.e. come up and sing request - will inevitably call out a song not on my list - and i'll have no metronome for it.

I could bring a seperate device and mix it in and all that, but what's the point if I already have ST3/iPad all connected?

O.P. has a great suggestion here - a STANDALONE METRONOME in the app would be SUPER useful - can't be difficult to incorporate into ST3, right?
