Trigger songs from a "remote" ipad which joined the session

Hi there! I am a singer and the setup is a bit far from the stage where I usually perform. I would like to control when to start singing songs or even searching the songs people sometimes request on my live shows.

How can I use my ipad that is "joined" in a session with the other ipad (hooked up to my mixer to send the backing tracks) to play/stop/select and search songs? is this possible? if not, what's my best option to have that freedom and not going back behind the drummer to do so?

danielalejandro you have two different needs, one is possible already and it involves purchasing a bluetooth hand remote like the DIGIT 3 airturn remote which will give you the start/stop, xfade, volume up down etc and it could be stratigically placed for seamless control.
You could even scroll through the next song selection while playing a song and the next song selection could be displayed on all your other devices but you need to see a device at the time of selection no matter which way you go, or you could be the one that has the host device control but the audio from that device would have to be used from that device and then you become the master song controller, if your drummer is doing that , then your only option is a hand control and a seperate screen somwhere for you.

Hi there, a few of us have requested this feature in the past. I hope it’s something that Peter introduces one day.

I think the only way that multiple pads could control playback presently, would be by using a pc on stage which you could trigger from multiple pads. You wouldn’t be able to host and join sessions though, the audio for tracks would have to be on that pc. I’m in a duo where the guitar player controls stop and play and song selection, at times I have to walk over and scroll his pad to find the song I’ve announced while he’s wondering why I’m not playing the songs in view.

Thanks for the comment! yeah, kinda sucks when I am the only singer with two dancers next to me and 4 musicians behind us.. I want to feel as free as possible and to have as much control as possible. I hope there is a way to do it with Stage Traxx.

Yes, you will not be able to control everything but song selection within a playlist and triggering playback and working with regions will be possible.

Damir Along the same lines at what Damir has suggested, you could even do the same with any MIDI device - cheap 2 octave MIDI keyboard (using a large workstation? Key split the bottom octave off as ST controllers only), MIDI foot pedal (e.g. https://luminitefx.com/en-au/products/graviton-m2-midi-controller), MIDI drum trigger pads. As long as it can send a MIDI CC or Note On then you can associate that with any of the remote actions in ST.
