Songs not starting on play

I use playlists for gigs.

Often when I start a song after it loads automatically, it doesn’t play for a few seconds. So usually, I hit the song in the list again and it works. Or even but stop and start again.

Has anyone experienced this? It is not the same songs. Seems to be random.

Are you starting the song by hitting Play on the device running ST3? or a foot switch? or MIDI trigger?

My drummer uses a Roland SPD-SX PRO to trigger song start and we always see around a 1/4 to 1/2 beat delay in song start as compared to when I hit the Play button on the iPad.

Also, is the song definitely not playing for those few seconds? Or is the song playing (play head on the waveform bar moving, countdown timer moving), but you are not hearing any audio output?

AnthonyB either, but most of the time pressing the button. It’s not a split second delay they could be due to a message latency. It can be several seconds. But it doesn’t always do it. It shows as playing, but the timer does not start for a few seconds.

Does the play button change to a stop button or does it not react at all?

peter Hi Peter, and congratulations on an amazing app.
It show the “pause” button, just like any song that is playing. But the timer does not start for a couple of seconds or not at all. If you press the pause button and then restart the song, it plays. Everything seems to load as normal - the lyrics, Midi commands etc.
I thought it was only happening on multitrack songs, but it seems to be random.
I’ll try to recreate it on video.

I have also seen this here and there. I think it is part of the code that ensures that tracks are played in sync. I have not found a cause for this issue and as version 4 will have a different engine for multitrack playback, I think it is only a minor issue. Rather this than playing tracks out of sync.
