MarkGuitar Hi. I understand that Logic will include any markers defined in its timeline within exported stems if using WAV format. I am not familiar with Logic so wondering if any other DAWs can do this? I have use Studio 1, Cubase and Pro-Tools. So hopefully one of those will. Anyone got any experience of this?
dadson MarkGuitar Hi, I'm maybe too late to the party, but Cubase 14 (from 14.0.20 and newer) does embed markers to wav, if you wish. Just be sure to check Insert Marker Chunk, at Export Audio Mixdown dialog box. Reaper can also handle markers.
AnthonyB Equally interested. Also interested to know if there is a standard for this given tags in WAV files is pretty unregulated beyond the basic as I understand it. If there is something being done that we can point other vendiors to and feature request, that would be helpful.
AnthonyB peter Is there some reference you can point to that you used for coding the markers import from WAV files? E.g. is it a specific tag name/format, etc.?
peter Yes, this is the property that contains marker info: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/audiotoolbox/kaudiofilepropertymarkerlist
AnthonyB peter Thanks! Feature request raised over on the Cakewalk Sonar forums - https://discuss.cakewalk.com/topic/84078-add-ability-to-include-markers-in-wav-file-export/ ....not that I'll be holding my breath or anything 🙂
MarkGuitar dadson Thanks for that. Yes I have upgraded my Cubase to 14 and that all works great. All I need now is ST4 and I can ditch Ableton and the Laptop! 🙂 Sounds like it won't be long now until the betas appear.
