Good morning,
When I try to create a new multitrack song, I get this error message when adding the audio files for each track. This only causes this problem on my macbook and not on my iphone or ipad. I don't understand because there is of course space on my mac as well as on my iCloud Drive.
Thank you for your help
Olivier.

iCloud does not count for this calculation. Only your regular space counts. How much space do you have left? macOS does some funny calculations and so the available space displayed in macOS is not always what is really available.

See here:

What finder displays is 131GB free. What is really free is 115GB. The rest is used but marked as "can be deleted". If your free space is less than 30-50GB, funny things start to happen. Try to stay above that value.

Hello and thank you for the response. I have more than 1.5TB free on this 2TB Mac partition. I don't understand where the problem could come from...? I have another 2TB partition for Windows and also a common 4TB extFat partition, but normally Stage TRAXX3 being installed on the 2TB MacOS partition does not see them.

That's strange. I checked the code and I do not see any obvious issues with volumes that size. It should even work fine with petabyte sized drives.

I suspect it might rather be a access rights issue. I think ST3 is not allowed to access that information on your device. Which Mac and macOS version are you running? Could you reinstall the app and see if that helps?

Good morning. Here are the specifications of my Mac which is quite powerful it seems to me. And here is also the information of the application, which I uninstalled and reinstalled and it does the same thing in the error message when I try to import audio.
      THANKS

"wheel" is read-only but I can't change that, a message tells me that I don't have the permissions required to change this permission...? I don't know if it's related or if you have the same permissions as me...

The permissions of the executable file are not important. The permissions of the data folder are. You (your username) needs to have full access to the folder ~/Library/Containers/Stage Traxx 3.

Hello Peter, This is what I have on the information in this file.
I have read and write access for my user account. And read only for wheel and everyone.
      I don't understand....

Yes, but that's the application file. Please read my last reply. That folder is where files are stored and where you need to have full access for your user. Not the application file.

What I can do in the next update is to just disable the checking when access rights are missing. Currently, if there is an error (for example due to missing rights) when detecting available space, the app assumes there is no more space available. I guess this is too restrictive. The better approach would be to assume there is enough space available.

I will change that in the next update in about 2 weeks.

Sorry Peter, I took the wrong screenshot and reposted the same one. Here is my message again :
( I have read and write access for my user account. And forbidden for everyone)
        I don't understand....

Hm, I can't explain that. But somehow you managed to import 4GB into the app. So did the issue only occur recently?

          peter
Until now I did not have a MacBook and I used your great application from my iPad and my iPhone. The data is synchronized on iCloud. I suppose that the MacBook has just retrieved this data from the Cloud but I have never managed to create a song directly from the mac book, there is always this problem. If I create it from the tablet for example, it works and then the MacBook imports it well but I would have preferred to do it directly from the Mac Book (more practical sometimes to import or type the text on the keyboard)

OK, in that case the only idea I have is to change the error handling in Stage Traxx and just assume there is enough space available when there is an error detecting it instead of assuming that there is no space left. These changes will be part of the 3.8.25 update which will be available in 1-2 weeks. If that update does not fix the issue, please get back to me.

Thank you very much Peter, I will be sure to let you know when I know of the new update

            15 days later

            Hello @peter,
I just updated the application on my MacBook - version 3,8,26 (9012), and the problem has disappeared, I can now import the files directly without insufficient space error even though I have a lot left.
So you managed to correct the error, well done and THANK YOU!!

Thanks for letting me know. So the problem was indeed that for whatever reason checking the available space throws an error. No idea why but I'm glad the modified error handling works.

            a month later

            Hello @peter ,
It's been a while since I imported new sound files on Stage Traxx 3 and the problem came back (see screenshot).

            Did you change anything Peter?
What's annoying is that I can't make backups on my macbook either. Here is the message also while there is still a lot of space available:

The application is installed on the main APFS partition of 2TB and there is still 1.6TB available.
I also have a Bootcamp partition of 1.5TB and an ExtFat partition of 4.5TB but which normally should not affect Stage Traxx

Any idea to solve the problem?
            Thank you very much
            Olivier.

            (Version : 3.8.28 (9019))

So the fix I released worked for some time and now it stopped working again?

              peter
Hello Peter. I had updated the application when the patch came out and tested: The files imported without problems. I have not imported other tracks since and this morning when I wanted to create a new song these messages appeared again. It's strange ...
