How to Step Through the Playlist and Select Tracks While a Song Is Playing?

First of all, thank you for the great work on Stage Traxx!

I’m trying to find a way to step through the playlist and select a different track than the next one in the playlist while a song is playing.
I came across an old support thread where it seems like this should be possible.
It was suggested to use Move Selection Up / Move Selection Down, but I can’t see those options under Assign Actions.

I’m using the latest version on both macOS and iOS and a Morningstar Bluetooth pedal to trigger Actions.

MichaelKratz I think that’s called NEXT SONG, PREVIOUS SONG now.

Yes, I have tried that. However, it’s not possible to use it while a track is playing.
Additionally, it seems to skip to the track after the one in the queue.
I’m looking for a way to freely select a different track in the playlist as the next song while the current one is playing.

Sorry. I had selected Next Song In Queue.
However, there is still an issue where it skips one or more tracks and doesn’t always step forward to just the next track.
It might, of course, be a problem related to the pedal.

That could be how your foot pedal is adjusted , I also don’t use queue , I only use playlists so I can’t help that much but it all works fine with my AirTurn pedals .

What do you mean by "skips after the one in the queue"?

Hello Peter,
After restarting the computer and Morningstar, it now seems to work as it should.

Previously, it behaved differently.
If track 1 was playing and track 2 was marked as Next, and I activated Next Song on the MIDI controller, it would jump to track 4, 6, 8, and so on, skipping every other track.
After the restart, I can now select track by track, so it works again.
Whether it’s a bug or some cached data from previous Action Assignments, I’m not sure.

That sounds more like a double trigger issue with your controller. Maybe something in your midi setup was duplicating the commands of your controller.
