  • Happy New Year and a Look Ahead for Stage Traxx

Dear Stage Traxx Community,

As we close out another year, I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and enthusiasm. Your trust in Stage Traxx is what made 2024 such a successful year, and I’m truly grateful for this wonderful community.

I’d also like to give you an update on the upcoming Version 4. While development is progressing, it’s moving a bit slower than I originally hoped. Because I currently work on the app part-time — roughly 20 hours per week — and spend about half of that time providing support, development hours are more limited than I’d like. However, I have some exciting news: thanks to the ongoing success of Stage Traxx, I’ve decided to leave my main job. Starting in May, I’ll be able to dedicate my full attention to the app. This will allow me to work at a much faster pace and bring Version 4 closer to my original schedule.

If all goes according to plan, I’m aiming to release a public test version by late summer, with a final release set for the end of the year. Your feedback during the testing phase will be invaluable, and I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the new features and improvements.

Thank you all once again for your support. Wishing you a happy, healthy, and music-filled New Year!

Warm regards,
Peter

Thanks for the update Peter. What a pleasure not having a "main" job !! :-)
My "boss" has been perfect for over 23 years now ! ! Lol !
Hope you enjoy your work as much as we ST users all do !

Good news. I use free version of ST3 since one year and want to buy full version but I think I will waiting ST4 for now. What news about video player?

I think I will release StageCue once there is nothing more on my plate except Stage Traxx and Stage Cue. So late May seems likely. Until then just continue using the Testflight version. I will update it to prevent it from expiring.

    Hi Peter,
I was having trouble last year with tracks not syncing up but I have resolved it for my setup. These things are all probably obvious for you but as a novice to audio, it has all helped my problem.
I make sure all tracks are in same audio format as stagetraxx (as you advise in your tutorial) and most importantly the name of each track within a song MUST have the song name attached and not just "1-click, 2- Bass, etc as stage traxx will pick the first one it finds and assign it to the song even if it is from another song. I also have done a full backup and turned 'sync with iCloud OFF'
All tracks then run from within the computer and it is not continually trying to back up.
Having a good processor in you mac is also essential, mine has the M3 chip.
Stage Traxx is a fantastic program and runs my backing tracks with time stamped lyrics and synth program changes so smoothly. I even now have a wireless pedal to select songs and stop/start. I am running the EVO 16 Audient interface and have 8 tracks separated for more control.
Thank you for creating this program and I am very excited to see what version 4 has to offer.
Congratulations on going 'full time' with this project.

    Congrats Peter, that's excellent news.

I'm sure you have some excellent updates scheduled.

Here are a couple of suggestions for updates as you see fit.

It would be great to be able to Copy and convert a Lyrics Only song to a Multitrack version (simply to make for a more convenient and time effective duplication of the same song.

Also, it would be exellent to see a "snapshot" of what playlists a particular song is on from the settings screen (as opposed to having to click into the next layer to see if a song is assigned and on what lists).

    Just some thoughts.

Version 4 will no longer have different song types.

I will not clutter up the song detail page with info that is not needed often, like the playlists this song is part of. Sorry.

peter Oh, hmm. I love seeing what playlists any given song is in. I have a lot of different playlists. Probably too many lol! But whatever you think.

You can already see it but you have to press the "Playlists" item in song details. And that will remain.

BTW, not sure if it is just me, but while I can see that this post has been tagged as "Sticky", it is not 'stuck' or pinned to the top of the forums for me when I come to https://support.stagetraxx.com ?
I always have to go looking for this post as it disappears down the list?

Yeah, the forum software does not have a way to make it stick on top of all posts.
