Hi all, just reporting an on stage notification popup that took over ST3 sound and froze the app, luckily I was in a part of a song I got the crowd singing and clapping, so I reopened ST3 and chose a solo segment to rejoin the song, thank god for audio segments,
APPLE THIS IS CRAP, I chose airplane mode I made sure ST3 disable screen lock is on, what the F is going on!
This was never an issue before, I suspect FOCUS is the culprit, but it’s so damn complicated to understand I wish I could just piss it off altogether.
Why are you continually updating and creating useless features.
Peter we desperately need one button that turns all shit off, that can interfere with ST3 on stage .
This is not making me feel warm and fuzzy , as it’s happening more and more , does anyone else have this problem or know what the hell is going on.

Thanks Peter, yes I know ST3 is not at fault , I have had this issue before and I thought I had it worked out , but obviously apple in their wisdom have a stupid default settings whenever you update their operating system, I have a feeling it was my iPhone that received a notification that was near me while performing and due to DAMN FOCUS ridiculously complicated settings somehow my iPhone caused my iPad to pop up the notification as well even though I have it all turned off on the iPad, so F knows what the F apple is doing all I know is they are Fing with my brain.
Why can’t they just have a simple turn all interruptions off on the devices so important programs like ST3 just work reliably.
It cant be that hard to do or understand to what people need.
It is absolutely frustrating and embarrassing when performing.
The early ST3 was much more reliable thanks to apple not Fing around with their operating system.
This is not acceptable APPLE!
Get your shit together.
As you can see this issue is very important to the end user I hope you can get apple to fix things.
I will also speak directly with their help line to see if they have a solution to this unnecessary problem.

Damir After playing around with FOCUS again and getting my brain around apples logic I have discovered this,
In FOCUS settings , Do Not Disturb, set a schedule, ADD SHEDULE, APP settings 😳 , then select ST3 , this hopefully will automatically turn on DO NOT DISTURB every time you open ST3 so you don’t get any unexpected pop up messages in the middle of your show.
Time will tell if this actually works , I don’t trust anything anymore.
Hopefully this will help you avoid embarrassment.

Hi Peter, i have been doing some deep thinking on the issue of unexpected pop up messages and sounds while performing, Apple has given you permission to access the DISABLE LOCK SCREEN feature which is great , so why cant they allow you to access the DO NOT DISTURB feature dedicated to ST3, that is buried 6 steps deep within FOCUS where no NORMAL person will ever find it, this setting is CRUCIAL that its turned on when performing on stage as you will hopefully never get unexpected things happening while performing.
My suggestion is to contact Apple and explain to why you desperately need this in the ST3 settings.
I would not even create a seperate switch for it, i would put it on the DISABLE LOCK SCREEN function without anyone needing to know that it also turns on the DO NOT DISTURB ST3 , and if you enable the lock screen it means you obviously are not performing and you don't mind the pop up notifications to occur .think of it as a double purpose switch doing two jobs that are important but we don't need to know about the second function.
This way there is no need for more selection options to clutter an already bloated settings but taking care of a very important problem on stage.
The pop up problem has been always an issue with me even though i tried damn hard to turn everything off in apples settings.
Aeroplane mode is useless as it also turns off the wifi so it needs to be on for most pro users, NOTIFICATIONS is useless and overcomplicated, then throw in the DAMN FOCUS that seems to override the notification settings, it is also over complicated and yet the setting that i actually need is buried 6 steps within , and i still don't know if this will eliminate pop ups in ST3 as it will take time to test.
If this does work, then we need this to be included simply in ST3 settings when choosing DISABLE SCREEN LOCK.
WE DONT NEED TO KNOW THIS EVEN EXISTS WE JUST DONT WANT ANY INTERRUPTIONS WHILE PERFORMING AND WE WANT OUR WIFI TO BE ON.

I hope this makes sense , i am just calming down after the last gig.

Thanks Peter, i totally understand it from your point of view, but everything is possible if the right people understand the problem and change their thinking, i see in that article this has been a long time issue that nobody has taken action on.
The apple aeroplane mode is very focused on aeroplane travellers, but a lot of us don't need it as we don't travel often, Notifications is ridiculously and unnecessarily overcomplicated, FOCUS, you need to be a genius to work out exactly how it works on its own not to mention with other devices or how it works with notifications.
Apple need to get of their high horse and start designing software for normal human beings that want a SIMPLE DO NOT DISTURB MY SOFTWARE WHILE I AM WORKING WITH IT,
I regard myself as an advanced user and i am hating it, normal users don't even know what we are talking about as the whole thing is stupid and too hard to understand or use.

Airplane mode turns off the wifi transmitter to stop aeroplanes crashing, wow ! How many of us actually need this? I rather also have a simple DO NOT DISTURB switch, which simply allows the wifi/bluetooth to work.I DONT WANT TO BE DISTURBED in any way while i am SLEEPING or PERFORMING ON STAGE how hard can it be APPLE to give us one simple button?
I hate poorly thought through software, ST3 is a miracle software and a good example how things can be made, with all the stupid operating system limitations.
Apple desperately needs honest feedback from average users and not the computer nerds that don't have life experience, they also know how to use apples complicated feedback system while normal users don't , this is why we are ending up with 90% of crappy complicated software that does not make life easier for the majority.
APPLE ! STOP LISTENING TO COMPUTER NERDS!

Final report, i just got my new iphone 16 pro max 512gb to replace my 11 pro max, obviously i am way behind times, all my bitching to apple has been done by others before me because now WE HAVE A DEDICATED DO NOT DISTURB BUTTON 🤩 on the device itself that can be changed to do many things, it seems by the time you get your new phone and learn how to use it there are 4 new models out before you blink that fix all the issues you discover on your new device, perhaps APPLE you need to reduce the amount of models you have and design them properly in the first place before you put them on the shelves to sell, and so reducing the amount of updates we need in a day , so we can actually get to know our devices and get to use them before having to buy new ones, i phone 16 has given me nothing new to get excited about it has everything the same as iPhone 11 but i am out of pocket $2500 , and still am missing my headphone jack thank you very much.
Not to mention now i have to upgrade my ipads if i want the DO NOT DISTURB BUTTON function that should have been there in the first place , and if i do upgrade, STILL NO DAMN DIRECT AUDIO OUTPUT JACK, so now i have to have a tack on short lead with external interfaces that should be already on my device that is wafer thin for no reason, if i want a kite i will buy one.
At a distance my audience wont notice if my i pad is 2mm thick or 8mm thick but they will notice a white lead and an ugly white dangling interface thats hanging at the bottom of my iPad giving me more unreliable and unnecessary crap to think about, i forgot my external battery pack tack on because your internal battery time sucks , this is all about you having bragging rights for the thinnest and lightest device we don't give a rats arse about. Remember the days of the smallest phone competition , where are they now? They got that small people could not use them, then you woke up and discovered screen size is important and now we have huge screens, well its time you woke up and think about thickness , we don't need thin we need long battery life more and interface facility so we can use the damn devices for various purposes.
