Suggestion for a Rehearsal mode.

I am pretty new to Stage Traxx and I’m liking the features and capabilities. I tried to search if this has been discussed before but maybe I just didn’t use the same terminology.

The audio regions are a very handy feature if you want to extend the song in some way during live performance. I think it’s more helpful for rehearsal to be able to quickly identify a section of the song ie; chorus 2 and pick it up from there. There’s lots of times at rehearsal where you go through identify something and then say let’s pick it up from the second chorus.

In these instances it would be good to be able to turn on a practice mode where it starts maybe 2 bars before the start of the region so you can use that as a count in and pick it up at the start of the second chorus. Then you can turn off rehearsal mode and it’ll start at the beginning of the region when wanting to loop a region live.

Neill00 i can see the benefit in this idea, BUT, the BIG BUT, its a dangerous trap if you forget to set it back you might look pretty red in the face on the next gig.
I find it no problem to live count and just hit start, and once you are on that loop just turn on permanent loop to keep practicing as long as you like.
I would rather have this same idea in LYRICS EDITOR when entering time stamps , so when you make a bad time stamp you simply hit UNDO and the software automatically reverses a bar or so just before the timecode mistake so all you do is hit play again and keep on time stamping, this would speed up this process and not cause any other issues.

Damir ya I thought of that and everyone uses the app differently. I’m more likely to use regions a lot in practice, maybe never live. Perhaps make it so it’s not global but you can turn it on and off per Playlist? Then you can clone a playlist just for rehearsals.

I like your idea for time stamps in the lyrics. It would work just as well for “learn MIDI”.

Actually there is already a toggle switch you can use to easily place your playhead wherever you want while the song is playing which I turn off in settings called WAVEFORM SEEK DURING PLAYBACK , this makes it really easy for rehearsal if you use colour named segments instead of clicking on a segment it’s just one touch and drag to place a start of rehearsal so it’s not any extra work needed and you have a choice of how much intro you may need and by placing the segment you are rehearsing in to permanent loop you can repeat as many times you like and none of the settings are permanent so when you go to play live all is back to normal , just remember to turn that OFF as it can cause an unexpected problem while choosing loops, I also normally don’t manipulate loops greatly as I have my song arrangements pretty well worked out but MAN , it’s a great thing when you have the audience wanting more and you can easily go back to a segment because you have all your songs broken down nicely.
I spend more time creating songs to perfection by the time I finish my backing I rarely need practice but having an automated return when correcting a mistake would definitely help.
Perhaps someone will think of a good way to do it all without introducing traps or more work for us.

Damir I tried this out and it may work out just fine. I have the lyrics set up so that you can scroll and see them highlight so you can tell that way where you are in the song. Thanks for your help!
