richie2uk Thanks yes I’m coming around to that view
I’ve done a bit more investigating and it’s definitely the fact that that the backup file is not held on the cloud, I’m still trying to figure out how to upload it but for the moment I have disabled the sync and all is now well.
I believe Icloud could be very useful if it allowed us to set it up to work in a different way.
If you could set one device to be the master that i cloud obeyed , and all other devices to be slaves that obeyed ICloud would make it a lot more usefull.
I know you could not work on all devices but i normally don't do that anyway , i use one device to create my content and want to have all my other devices the same , i definitely don't use my iPhone to create content and when i do create my backing on my iMac i automatically transfer the final product directly to my performing iPad which is my master device , it would be nice if then iCloud sees this update on the MASTER DEVICE and updates itself to IT and automatically syncs all my other devices to save me time , this includes my iMac , iPhone and my other iPad , this way there would be no confusion of what does what, and missing files etc, it would be a simple system that everybody knows what it does and how it does it.
At the moment its too flexible and unpredictable, which makes it dangerous, and does not make me feel warm and fuzzy.
So i don't use it.
