All my passing chords end up like AmGF instead of Am G F. Am I doing something wrong or is there a fix for that.

BobPearce put more spaces between the letter and second bracket of the chord.

You can also write all Chords into a singe chord bracket or omit the chord bracket completely if the line contains no regular lyrics.

Thank you Lishy and Peter for your advice. Worked like a charm.

I have the same issue and it takes me ages of tweaking spaces etc to get the spacing and layout readable. Can you describe what it was that you did to sort this pls @BobPearce thanks

If you want to tweak the layout yourself you need to make sure to enable the fixed width font option in Settings > Lyrics & PDF!

I have done that as per other posts and your answers. However, even in fixed width mode, space don’t seem to take up the same space as a “real” character. Many time I have tried to space out a sequence of chords where there are no lyrics (jazz turnarounds etc) and to get a visible space between the chord markers I will need to add many spaces. Strangely it displays perfectly in the editor but in the live view not. IE I could type in [Am7] [D7] in the editor and it looks fine. In the live view the chords will be displayed Am7D7. I have to then add lots more space to correct it.
If it display correctly in the editor why is it wrong in the viewer. Again, I am using fixed font in settings.

MarkGuitar just add some spaces before the second bracket so it looks like this [Am7 ]

MarkGuitar you can achieve what you need but it’s very fiddly and you really have to know what you are doing , I agree, it should be represented exactly as the lyrics editor

Lishy just add some spaces before the second bracket so it looks like this [Am7 ]

This worked great for me- Thank You Lishy!

When placing chords manually, don't use square brackets.

Square brackets fix the chords to a certain position in the lyrics.

        Example: [Am7]Some [D7]lyrics

        Result:

        Am7 D7
        Some Lyrics

Now what happens if the chord is wider than the lyrics? Example: [Amaj7/G]Some [D7]klyrics

        Result:

        Amaj7/GD7
        Some Lyrics

Stage Traxx will add a bit of space in the lyrics. Just enough to write the chords. In your example you have only a single whitespace between two chords.

So if you want to write only chords in a line. Just omit the square brackets. If you want to keep using square brackets and need to position two chords with a little space, add the space inside the bracket: [Am7 ] [D7]

peter So if you want to write only chords in a line.

And to make it fit in with your chords in square brackets on your lyric sheet, don't forget you can also use the colour tags to set the colour the same as your chord colour (default is green) as per https://stagetraxx.com/user-guide/lyrics/#colors

Usually you don't need that. Lines containing only chords are automatically recognized and colored accordingly.
