Just ordered a wolfmix mk2
I plan on making various looks and then using a WIDI host with OTG to allow presets to be sent from ST3 midi timestamps
Anyone else using a Wolfmix ?

I haven't pulled the trigger yet but I've been looking into getting the MK2. Would love to hear your experience using this with ST3.
It’s expensive but worth it
A CME widihost and OTG cable will receive midi commands from ST3 in the lyrics editor
The midi works with presets on Wolfmix
Midi learn function works with lyrics editor
So once you have your presets made as building blocks
You can literally timestamp your light show as easy as time stamping your lyrics
Add your tempo in the song details and set Wolfmix to BPM and ST3 sends midi clock to Wolfmix making movements color changes and pulses perfectly in time.
Wow, that's so awesome! Thanks for the info on how wolf mix is working with ST3
This is looking really cool. The Wolfmix seems like the ideal DMX controller for smaller setups. Too bad it is quite expensive.
Hi jaytrax,
thanks for your post. This is exactly the setup I want to use.
I currently use STP3 to playing backing tracks and I already control effects and channel presets via MIDI sends on a Behringer Flow 8 (planned for the future via Yamaha DM3 or Allen & Heath CQ12T (but that's just a side note)), what works really perfect.
Now I also want to create a lightshow with some DMX-controlled moving heads and various LED effects with a Wolfmix W1, of course automatically controlled by STP3, by sending MIDI commands triggered by timestamp to the Wolfmix in order to call up the presets stored there.
I normally use an iPad Air live, for test purposes I have connected the Wolfmix to my Mac Studio via USB B connection and am now trying to control the Wolfmix there via STP. I have a USB hub between the Mac and Wolfmix so that I can connect the mixing console via USB at the same time.
My mixing console receives the MIDI commands perfectly, but the Wolfmix seems to be completely deaf when it comes to receiving MIDI data.
Do I have to change anything on the Wolfmix or in STP3? Or does it not work at all with the hardware I described?
What about the WIDI tool you mentioned earlier? Do I really need it?
I would really appreciate advice and tips of any kind!
I’m not near my gear at the moment
But the first thing I would check is the Wolfmix settings and to make sure midi is being received
Check MIDI Settings on the Wolfmix W1
Go to Settings > MIDI on the Wolfmix.
Make sure MIDI Input is enabled.
Check that it’s set to the correct MIDI channel (default is usually 1, but verify what your controller/software is sending).
Verify MIDI Source
If using USB MIDI, confirm that your computer recognizes Wolfmix as a MIDI device.
Somehow I can't call up any midi settings under Settings? There is no entry there. Instead, it says “WLINK Input Mode: OFF. Do I have to activate this first? Hm... any idea?
My bad, it’s not in those settings
But when you have made presets
In the preset you can assign midi channels etc there per preset
In the meantime, I discovered via the Wolfmix forum that Midi data can only be received via the USB port A. However, I had connected the computer to the B port. That's why it didn't work. In the meantime, I have also managed to control the Wolfmix presets via Midi. Thanks for your time and effort.
This probably also doesn't work if a USB hub is connected in between. But there is probably also a device for addressing several MIDI devices in simultaneously...
