Multitrack to Behringer XR18

I am new at this and especially audio connectivity. So, I need step by step instructions on how send each track to its own channel in XR18.

And do I need special equipment to go from iPad to Behringer?

There's not much to it. Configure the XR18 in the control app to run the USB interface in multichannel mode. Then connect it to your iPad, start Stage Traxx and setup which tracks should go to which channels in Settings > Audio Routing. Also make sure the routing in your mixer is setup the way you need it.

I purchased your app and so far I am excited about the prospects of this. I hope it works like I imagine.
I want to be able to control what instrument I play live depending on the musicians that are available at the time.

Before this I was using the Cymatic LP-16 backing tracks player. It works good and is very dependable, but a lot of work to get tracks to it. and then I needed it to trigger my lyrics player.

Then I found your product! I am trying it out. I am learning.

I use Karaoke-Version for my multitracks. I download each instrument separately. Do I need to do anything else with my multitracks? Can I just use them once I downloaded them as they are?

I finally got to this point in my process. Regarding the integration with XR18.

How do I configure Stage Traxx3 to target XR18 in Audio Routing Output. So far I don't have the option to choose XR18.

And when I do get it to work I have these questions:
This means that I have to have a computer connected directly via USB at all times when I need to play, correct? And does this mean the songs must be started from the computer?
I was hoping to only have to use my ipad when playing live.

Yes, they should work fine in Stage Traxx. Just make sure that you do not export some of the tracks with count in and some without. All tracks must start at the same time.

What about the fact that the karaoke-version tracks are stereo. I want to have (drums, guitars, bass, percs-fx, keys, brass, back vocals, cues/click) - I need to go mono of course.

I suppose I need to edit the tracks down to mono before loading them in StageTraxx or does StageTraxx have a way to deal with this?

No need, if you route a track to a mono output it will automatically be converted to mono.

Okay one more quick question:

I need the count-in for my songs. But Karaoke-Version appends the click on all instruments. I don't want the instruments other than the click track to have the count-in. So is there a way that your wonderful app manages that too? Or do I have to edit each instruments in say Audacity or Logic Pro before I bring into Stage Traxx?

or if I download my songs from Karaoke-version without the count-in, does your app provide count-in that I can add to the click track?

You have to edit in an audio editor. There is no count in function in ST3.

Use built in router or external router or Ethernet connection to iPad software for control of XR18 then connect USB from XR18 to USB of iPad to get your audio connected, you need to have appropriate Interface to give you these connections.
Laptops have all these connections iPads don’t you need appropriate adaptor leads.
Stick with apple ones if you can.

I also had to set my Audio Output in the Settings on the MacBook to XR18. This was one of the key things I didn't know.

Universal apps like Stage Traxx can not choose a different audio output on macOS. You need to switch the system output to whatever interface you want to use.

And yes, if you want use your mixer via usb, it needs to be connected all the time while playing audio. But you can connect your iPad to the mixer, no need to bring your computer.
