Interested in a simple soundboard like video playback app?

In my opinion video playback needs a completely different UI than audio playback. I don't want to create a monster app that does everything in a horrible way. Better have different apps with a different focus that can easily work together.

Ho Peter. I use BBeat (backing traks and video) but I think that the work you are doing on Stage Cue is great!!! Interworking between st3 and stage Cue will make the two a great solution for many little bands. I have st3 on mini Mac and I will download also stage Cue. I will try to make them work together on mini Mac (I understood a sync is now possibile). What I think will make the difference will be the Facility to sync audio and video. On Bbeat is not easy. I really appreciate your job. Thanks Giovanni

Hi everybody. I installed stage cue on mini Mac and when I try to select IPad in the network midi session area I see the iPad but I am not able to select it. Even trying with iPhone where i have st3 I see the iPhone but I cannot select it. instead using iPhone with stage cue and iPad with stage 3 it works.

You are right. I also see the same issue on the Mac. I will take a look at it in the coming days.

Seems like a sandbox issue on the Mac. The connection always fails to be established and I have no idea why. There is no error or indication why it fails. I have posted this issue on the Apple Developer forum and hope to get someone to answer it.

I am testing the Stage Cue on an iPhone 11. Trying to send any midi command from an iPad running Stage Traxx. SC won’t see it. (MIDI trigger start/stop in a video clip) Is there a Midi setup in either? Running the same wifi.
I can send midi from midi wrench on the same iPad and it sees it…

I see the problem. They are talking. (I am using midimetr to talk via Bluetooth. Is this needed?)
All my midi command are sending when the song is selected. I need them to start when play is pushed.
Here are the commands I have as the first 2 lines in the lyrics:
[midi:@play: ss1]
[midi:@00:01.00: pc5@14]

I finally figured out that it was: after midi and before @play. I removed it.

I didn't know it works over bluetooth. I thought network midi needs a wifi network.

Using it at our NYE show tomorrow!
The only issue I have now is it takes about 1/2 a second to transmit the midi command to SC and have the video start. This puts it half a second too slow and out of sync. I couldn’t find a solution so I will have to use it as is. I will redo my videos taking off a half a second later on.

I think that's the time the video player needs to prepare the video playback. MIDI over network should be realtime. So the only viable solution would be to time your midi commands half a second earlier.

peter That would make sense though I have all my videos starting at 0:00 so I cannot start before that. I’m trying to measure exactly how long the delay is so I can add that into the video.

I don't think the delay is constant. It depends on the video file (format, resolution, length).
